Just thought I should let you guys know.

Telstar: A music-infused drama about Joe Meek, the flamboyantly gay, tone deaf, songwriter-producer behind the '60s hits "Have I the Right," "Just Like Eddie," "Johnny, Remember Me" and "Telstar."

Will be watching, with gusto. Joe Meek is responsible for something like a dozen of my favorite songs.

however, nick moran , is, well, let's just say my hopes aren't high.
if you've never heard either version of 'I Hear a New World - an outer space music fantasy', then do so.

My hopes aren't exactly shooting to the stars either, but a movie will definitely will get us some nice re-releases of his albums.

I actually just watched a doc last week here in Winnipeg called A life in the death of Joe Meek. It was pretty interesting I must say, having known basically nothing about him except that he produced Telstar. Anyone who's a Meek fan should try to see it. Although at 2hrs and 20 mins it was a touch long, and parts of it dragged a bit. If there's one thing I wish I could get indie documentarians to do, it's to make better (and in this case-- more) editing decisions while in post. Brevity folks. Brevity!

@ mrghosty: It's Ken Burns' fault. Now when you say documentary, people think geological age.

    @ Frordesoon.

Yeah I never thought of Ken Burns being at fault for this, but I think you may be right.
