Telstar: A music-infused drama about Joe Meek, the flamboyantly gay, tone deaf, songwriter-producer behind the '60s hits "Have I the Right," "Just Like Eddie," "Johnny, Remember Me" and "Telstar."
i'm sure you can still get all the very nice compilations, i can recommend : alchemist of pop hidden gems volume 1 let's go (joe meek girls) portrait of a genius the joe meek story
I actually just watched a doc last week here in Winnipeg called A life in the death of Joe Meek. It was pretty interesting I must say, having known basically nothing about him except that he produced Telstar. Anyone who's a Meek fan should try to see it. Although at 2hrs and 20 mins it was a touch long, and parts of it dragged a bit. If there's one thing I wish I could get indie documentarians to do, it's to make better (and in this case-- more) editing decisions while in post. Brevity folks. Brevity!
