    Re: Pop Comics

I always thought the Apparat projects were (in part) Warren Ellis' attempts to work out the Pop Comic ideas.

Apparat 1 were crime, sci-fi, adventurer and aviator stories, while Crecy from Apparat 2 is basically a war story. Hrm. Aetheric Mechanics at the moment seems to be a detective/crime story. Is that what Apparat 2 is, taking the genres and forcing them out of their typical setting?

It may be blasphemous, but the FOX series New Amsterdam seems to be at least wandering through the Frank Ironwine ideaspace, the idea that past matters and has weight as compared to the relentless non-time of science expressed in the CSI and its descendants.

No. Will return to this when I have time.
