@Kunundrum -- I still think we should form a cult. The robes should be available for pickup next week. You'll need to get the Reeboks and magic crystals on your own.
Loving it so far. I'm not one for joining things usually being slightly technophobic ( Ned Ludd was a genius compared to me) but have read a lot of interesting stuff and I found where all the people who can spell go to on this web thingy
Just joined the site - It looks good, when I get the chance I'll have a poke around the conversations going on. I probably won't post much, I'm more of a reader than a bullshitter/post whore btu if I feel I can contribute I'll get in there.
so far I'm loving the site. I also like the "benevolent dictatorship" message board moderation style. Don't meltdown, spam or be a total ass to everyone or you're right out. Luckily no one has done anything nasty yet.
I've been on the internet for more than five years and this is the first time I've actually started to revisit Whitechapel -- a forum! But I shouldn't say revisit, I live here now. We all do.
I'm finding I love Vanilla even more than I did when I ran it. It just FEELS easy to contribute with little effort -- like commenting on livejournal except much, much less awful. And somehow I'm mostly keeping up, so far, although perhaps that's because word hasn't been spread as much yet. (I'm comparing here not only to the ENGINE but to the WEF before it. Perpetually behind on both; finally had to give up on both because of it.)
That parenthetical points out another thing -- it feels like it's easier to just stay as caught up as you can afford the time without that drowning sensation, possibly because of how things float to the top (or not, if they get sunk or abandoned, I suppose) -- that's really working for me.
So what I'm saying is: nice play you got here. Think I'll stick around. Happy end of week two, almost.
I've been a forumwhore for a long time - I generally find somewhere, post on it for a while then find it moribund in some manner - generally "clever" people don't like to be coarse on occasion and coarse people are rarely clever. This place has been mercifully free of such linear fucktardery and hence you're stuck with me for the moment.
