    Well, we've been open a week, and it's been interesting. And I mean that in a good way. Some honest-to-god involving and eccentric conversations, 1400 members, no freakouts and no bullshit. This is promising. And the software hasn't broken. I don't think the Bad Signal, when it finally leaked out of the broken mailing-list system, reached most of the list -- and where it did, I think it was lost in the sudden flood from the constipation-release purge the list pulled.

    So we'll do a slow build.

    I appreciate this. I've never actually been actively involved on a message board before (can you tell?). None have really piqued my interest or had anything worth reading - AT ALL. Yet, you've managed to draw a good cross-section of people who are both similar and varied.

    The ease of use, depth and breadth of interest, and general courtesy (even down right friendliness) contained in this board has created the only true feeling of community I have discovered online to date. I feel like each time I visit I can both contribute something (hopefully worthwhile) to the discussion and find people far more informed on topics to gleam useful and interesting information from and have proper and cordial discussions with.

    Agreed. This has been surprisingly intellectually stimulating, in a very broad range of topics. Most message boards are so limited in scope, but this one has a completely new concept to consider every time I come on. I wasn't expecting that :) I'm gratified by that.
