    There was a story in New Scientist (I think) about a floor covering that lit up when you stepped on it. It was powered by the body weight pressing down on it.

    So you could get up at night and the floor would automaticallylight up when you stepped on it.

    What's he using here? LEDs? Some of the properties of carbon nanotubes suggest stuff like this but I doubt it's that.
