    @dj dead billy
    yeah, Thirwells sound was just so..... big (for lack of a better word). Scraping Foetus Off the wheel sounded like it belonged in a huge opera hall or something. Used to walk around Manhattan with it blasting through my walkman (remember those?). Loved Suicide as well, and am also listening to James Chance again, Contort Yourself. James White & the Blacks is a great album, if you can find it. (or was it James Black and the Whites?)

    I just listened to the new Spiritualized album, songs in A&E and was just blown away. I love Spiritualized a=but was disappointed by Amazing Grace.

    Then, after listening to it, my iPod DIED. After three years of no problems, gloating as all my friends died and the thing just died... Its going to be bad not having it, as I use it at work and in the car. And I'm pretty sure my wife hasn't finished paying it off yet...

    so far, i've gone through when i was cruel and may be stuck on brutal youth for a while. also looking for my long-lost copy of north, because i miss it.

    My musical tastes have been on a harder bent as of late...mainly Nine Inch Nails and Tool.

    W/IFS is the crazy.

    i checked them out years ago after reading a zine where the singer talk about the best part of having that many members is that they can beat up potentially two other bands, so they never have to play first.

    Hammill really has cornered the market over the years on a sort of metaphysical alienation, frustration and rage. Even his love songs can chill the blood.

    I just found an audience recording of A Silver Mt Zion's first live performance post-13 Blues for Thirteen Moons, featuring two previously unheard tracks. Which is quite exciting. Also several other interesting performances on the same directory - Nihilist Spasm Band, Do Make Say Think and Feu Therese to name a few. (Avoided linking because I haven't checked the Whitechapel policy on bootlegs, though I seem to recall Efrim of ASMZ doesn't object to them.)
