    An art krewe has put up a wireless network of oral histories that broadcast on the FM band in Southhampton.
    "This should not be of interest for tourists only but even more so is an experience which the people of Southampton should try to give them a sense of ownership of their own history and present. The voices of the people of Southampton telling an unfiltered version of subjectively experienced history are being trasnmitted into public space. Little squares and corners are being enriched with a civil society version of history profoundly different from the media manipulation which we have to suffer with today's electronic media landscape."

    I think Warren's over in Southend, not Southampton.

    Mind you, I'm from Southampton, and bits of my family have been anchored there for centuries, so it's certainly of interest to me. Ta! :)

    I'm in Winchester, doing a Museums MA and I find this very interesting. Not because of the Oral history, but of the way this is a museum practice put into spaces.

    I'll use this for my dissertation on Supermodernism in Museums. Thanks.
