    i enjoyed the suggestion that Sirkka (may have) caught on to Luke's doing in the brains of ex-gf, but Karl and Kirk are focused on exposition and breakfast. I am enjoying the slow pace of this, i get to think about stuff more. personal note: 'hello, the house' is utterly evocative of a comfortable relationship in my world.

    I'm not waiting on Mark to get his, really, even though he is proverbially asking for it. He could be the character I have more sympathy for in the future.

    But only two people truly know what is up 20 to 30 issues from now. No, I'm keeping predictions on future episodes to myself, personally. They're not as important as my curiosity to what happens next. :)

    You know, now that Paul has revealed that the skies are photos of the sky, it's much more obvious - or perhaps, because it's a lot more cloudy than the previous episodes have been. Still, a great episode. Starting to miss KK though.

    I totally noticed that too =D Warren seems to have a real K fixation with this piece. KK, Sirkka, Kirk, Karl, Mark, Arkady, Luke...

    I'm not waiting on Mark to get his, really, even though he is proverbially asking for it. He could be the character I have more sympathy for in the future.


    I can see that being possible too. Mark could well be a lot less despicable than he's being set up to be by the remaining Freakangels. Finding out his side of the story will be facinating, and his downfall I'm hoping won't be arriving any time soon. I want him to be too clever for that. Every story needs a mastermind antagonist :)

    Sirkka has a certain aura about her of languishing power, like a resting tiger, that her hedonistic laziness belies. I think she's a lot more vigilant about what's going on all around than she appears, and possibly even keeps the machinery running smoothly from behind the scenes...

    Read earlier, fell asleep at 7.30, woke at 12.30. Hmm.
    Luke appears to be a sad, desperate bastard and, with Sirkka sensing his actions, it looks like he's going to be sorry, snivelling bastard too. The contrast between the scenes was done nicely and, once again, we learn more in 6 pages of this than in 6 pages of plenty of other stories. Nice one chaps.

    Freakangels is awesome. Every friday is a treat. Thanks Paul and Warren! this series has a great pace and measure, the dialogue and concepts is Ellis-awesome ness, the artwork is Duffield-fantastic-amazing.

    A great episode as always, really looking forward to an eventual trade whenever too.

    Hmm wanna make a bet that 6 of the freakangels are girls, 6 are guys?

    I noticed that right off. Though it feels like cheating almost, writers sometimes find it irresistable to insinuate meanings, or patterns, or even outright puns into the names of their characters. And I love names, so I always end up wracking my brain looking for the common thread, the subtle play on words or synonyms adjacent to a surname.

    I think my favorite name out of this series so far is Sirkka. That's just cool, my friend.

    p.s. Where do some people get the idea Karl used a mental attack of some sort to assassinate Mark? I really see Karl using an honest-to-goodness gun... perhaps grudgingly, but a real gun nonetheless.

    Karl's brain was shielded, as he said. I can't see how he could shield incoming signals while letting outgoing signals through, not against an opponent such as Mark. My first impression on reading that was a down-to-earth mechanical rifle too.

    Flabyo: I'm thinking there's a difference between the means of control; it seems like Luke reaches in and starts ripping shit out, while Sirkka just sort of persuades; probably by tickling the pleasure centers (psychically and physically).

    Just my Wackadoo Theory for the week.
