This is probably my favorite book that's running right now. Okay, that's not entirely true, and my sense of what's "running right now" has severely tilted since I stopped buying comics on a weekly basis. Still, this is one of the books that really excites me. I can't wait to see more of it. There's not enough intelligent and beautiful science fiction in the world of comics right now.
If people are getting into this, image and desperado have brought out all of Outlaw nation in one trade(19 issue), and its well worth picking up. Shame it got cancelled Delano seem to be setting up so much in that book.
I need to read issue 2 again but on the whole I've been impressed with it. Once I got past the initial 'bleurgh' at the language difference ("juicing what now? am I drunk?") it was amazing how effortless the syntax was. The second issue also moved things along quite fast, which is always good.
I have read the first 2 issues so far and I am impressed. Delano has captured Huxley's vision of the future perfectly...I can't wait for the last 2 issues.
Yep, its a great book. I've always had a love of Delanos work going back to the early Hellblazer issues. Have read each a few time not and just hope it keeps going.
Yes, and as strange as it sounds, I would probably pick this up as a trade if there were lots of behind the scenes extras. A lexicon, scripts, visualising the future world, etc.
Have to mention though: the store I picked this up from doesn’t exactly keep neat shelves for independents.
After reading the current issue I have a few quarms. Given Delano's track record and the fact that it's concluded next issue, I have a horrible feeling that he's heading towards a "He had come to love Big Brother"-style ending. Which will be a disappointment
I can see that, but I really don't have any idea where Delano is going with it. I feel like it could be something completely opposite. When the final issue comes out, I'm going to sit down and read all four of them in a row and see if I get any new insight out of that. Right now I still feel like there are elements of the storytelling that I'm not picking up on. I feel like I could be missing out on some subtly told bombshell hidden somewhere in the issues that are already out. We'll see, I guess.
