I knew that this was going to be an online thing, but for a minute I was really hoping you were just asking about a ball of string. We could have had a thread about all the weird things that people like to tie together: "One time I used some twine to tie my flashlight to my hosepipe so that I could water my garden at night. It was pretty sweet." That kind of thing.
I know the feeling, MagicSword. I came in here thinking "I love twine, use it every day to wrap things up or tie them to boards." But no, this was about the future instead. And that's fine, but the old type of twine is so delightful. I guess I should have realized how improbable it was for this would be a thread about tying things up.
It's an interesting idea (the site), but hard to imagine; if someone registers for BETA and gets the invite I'd be interested to hear how it's looking.
per @m1k3y - have signed onto this, am getting the daily digests, but still haven't used it enough to figure out wtf this is good for apart from blah web3.0 blah semantic web blah
So it's essentially a more organised del.icio.us? Looks interesting. I couldn't see if you can share different info with different groups. That would make it more useful to people like I think. You could have a general group that all of your contacts can share plus smaller, more private groups for sharing information collected together for particular projects that you wouldn't want to share with all.
