Today has been spent alternating between Dan Deacon and Kaki King, and I have no idea how to make any sense of that combination. I've actually just recently gotten into Ms. King and by god does she know her way around a guitar.
A definite guilty pleasure, I got the new Goldie Lookin Chain album, Under The Counter, this morning, and it's fab. There's no progression from the earlier stuff, but I've been a fan since the early underground days, and if it ain't broke, it don't need fixing...
The Black Angels - Directions to See a Ghost. Psych drone, I like it. I DL'd it just because of the cover. Sometimes you win with a random shot like this.
65daysofstatic new ep: The Distant and Mechanised Glow of Eastern European Dance Parties; excellent as ever. Also, since I was on the Monotreme site I finally gave in to The Low Lows: Shining Violence, mostly cos I love Sparrows so much. Still getting my head round the rest. And I have Nadja's Thaumogenesis set to load every morning when I get to work.
Dropkick Murphys at the moment, but has anybody else here heard of Barleyjuice? They're a local New England Celtic drinking band. Some really fun music. Songs about blowjobs, penises, and mostly drinking, as well as some great covers of traditional songs.
Atmosphere's 6th studio album "When Life Gives You Lemons You Paint That Shit Gold" came out. If you're into good hiphop you should check it out, it's thier best yet.
