From today (Monday) until Friday, Matt Fraction, co-creator and author of CASANOVA and THE FIVE FISTS OF SCIENCE and writer of PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL, THE ORDER and the forthcoming INVINCIBLE IRON MAN (and co-writer of UNCANNY X-MEN & IMMORTAL IRON FIST) and one of my best friends in this business will be hanging out in this thread.

Matt's here to take questions, jabber about baseball and bands I don't like, and basically shoot the shit and talk about whatever he wants to talk about.

Say hello to Matt Fraction now.

still trying to get my book off the ground- goddamn flaky artists.

i would like to say that i need to know who to kill in order to find an artist to work with who is even half as good as Ba or Moon. seriously. i have knives and shit.

other than that, whats up lately?

Hello sir. Casanova is the best book coming out from any company right now. (Or at least, it's my favorite.) So, yes, thank you.

Um, I swear I don't know shot about baseball, but have kind of been looking at it since I joined your Twitter list... Also, waking up to the 'No one high fives for anal' a while ago actually a a bad day bearable.

    Thanks for that.

What's up, Matt? How's the weather down in KC? And how 'bout them Cardinals? Wooo! (Not that you're a Cardinal fan ... I don't even know what team you're a fan of ... surely not the ever-pathetic Royals?)

Hey Mr.Fraction! Just wanted to say thanks for your awesome comics, Casanova is without a doubt my favourite title at the moment. I heard the interview you did with John Siuntries a while back talking about Punisher War Journal, is there any chance of that Vulture and Rhino book? I can't help but want to read it.

Matt I'm going to get a couple of big questions out of the way.

1)Who are your major cultural influences (by which I mean people, specific works, or incidences) in comics?

    Literature?

    Music?

    Art?

    Motion Pictures?

    Historical?

    2) What fictional character or archetype do you most want to (or try to) emulate (for example: I like Father Heh-Zeus...and I have a wrist band to prove it...a black wristband with pink lettering)?

    3) What cultural or scientific movements, memes, or inventions excite you at the moment?

    @fro

Maybe you could use some other mathematically related word. Hypotenuse?

(Fuck, I really wanted to use that word, then got worried that I'd forgotten how to spell it. And guess what? I had forgotten... )
  4.  (1892.16)
Casanova is quite possibly the finest comic on the stands today, so I trust your answer sir: What's an excellent blender drink for a warm sunny day off spent in the company of a beautiful young woman?

Baseball. Hmmm. Crazy Americans swinging at balls with lumps of wood.

Not quite as mad as cricket which as we all know is a bunch of mad English men in white swinging at red balls with a lump of wood.

That's not a bad idea. I could change my name to 'Steve Logarithm' or something. With a name like that I could be a maths-related superhero!

    hi all.

joe-- CASANOVA #14 should be out early next. It should be put to bed this week, next week at latest... the turned around and on stands a couple weeks after. If it's not out by mid-May I'll be surprised. i think it's the best thing i've ever written.

you have to kill a bear by drowning it in menstrual blood to experience the exquisite divinity of working with talents like the twins.

Hello to Matt Fraction. As someone who once actually edited and printed an article I wrote, you have a lot to answer for to the people who put up with my noise now.

On which note, my question is: Is there a place for something like SAVANT now? Do you have a call to action like the one Warren made and you leaped upon however godawfully long ago that was?
