    I picked up the second issue yesterday at the comic store. It keeps getting better. I do have a couple of issues with character designs of a couple of the characters looking too much like Phonogram characters but that's minor.

    I posted a review of the first issue over on my blog. I like the second one even more. I don't want to give away too much though. :)

    Who else is reading this and what do you think?

    It's fun - but not as much as Phonogram. Not yet, anyway. Certainly keen to read it all.

    I actually like it a bit better than Phonogram so far. All in all, the characters are a bit nicer. Not that that is a determiner of "good" in a story to me, I just care about the characters a bit more.

    If you liked the cover designs, they're available as prints.

    my store didnt order enough of #2, so i have to wait until next week. grrr....loved the first issue though.

    No #2 in mine yet either, irritatingly.

    Convinced a friend to try the first issue when it came out. Halfway through, she turned to me, pulled a disgusted face and said "this is the most emo comic ever".



    She was incredibly angry when the second issue didn't arrive on time :)

    its only emo in the new mtv version of the word. like when that douche calls the kids "fucking emos". uh, emo isnt a noun and i hate people using it like that. i also hate when bands are called emo that are actually just poppunk. emo: orchid, heroin, swing kids. poppunk: MCR, fall out boy, saves the day. sorry. had to rant a little. (not saying whether the bands are good or not, just the mis-labeling based on haircuts.)

    I believe you'll find that's the worst kind of emo for something to be ;)
    Also, as with most genres, it's a fairly loose term, so people can use it in different ways without necessarily being wrong (and technically, it is a noun).

    Anyway, this is veering unpleasantly off topic. Back to the comic - it seemed fun, and the artwork was, of course, fantastic. Hopefully the shop'll have issue two in next week so's I can find out where things are going!

    hahah, that is by far the worst kind. i dont want to just bicker back and forth, but emo is EMOtional hardcore. so its a noun in regards to music, and people can be emo, but they cant be AN emo. sorry to be nitpicky(and i'm not trying to be condescending) ,but as a hardcore kid, i have had to hear the mainstream explanation of emo for too long now. i will now get back on subject: how great does jamie's art look in full color through the whole book? he's pretty rad.

    phonogram is amazing- its on my short list of comics to write about for the project i'm currently working on. its totally a record/scene nerd comic-the themes apply to almost any diy scene. i love it!

    I'm having a time out until I can learn some manners.
    I enjoyed reading the first issue, great characters, excellent dialouge, I just felt that not much actually happened. The second issue is in my pull box so I aint read it yet.

    Personally, I'm enjoying the hell out of Suburban Glamour. Just a pity it's only four issues, I had assumed it was six.

    McKelvie is on a winning streak: beautiful "ligne-claire" art (look it up), cool story. HAS WIN.

    Not as interesting as Phonogram for me yet, but mostly because Phonogram took everything I thought/experienced during the 90's and made a comic out of it. Still, I like where McKelvie's going.

    I'm definitely enjoying this more then Phonogram. Not that it wasn't fantastic, I just think Glamour is much more accessible. And the last line of issue 1 was brilliant. The "big reveal" in 2 was okay, I may not be 100% down with the story, but the storytelling is amazing.

    I picked up the first issue, and even though at first some things weren't my keep of tea (I hate trend shopping) and other things were (weird ass "SO REAL!" dreams) I did like the characters and the end of the issue.
    I will pick up a trade, since I'm slowly but surely making my way over to trades for all my comic needs.
