Ted Leo and the Pharmacists - Great punky indie-rock. Saw them on the 20th and they were incredible, the studio versions don't even compare.
Less Than Jake - Typical ska-punk. I haven't listend to this band in years and they popped up on shuffle the other day and I realised that Borders & Boundaries is a really solid album.

It's worth the wait. I picked it up in the US on iTunes, and it's a perfect encapsulation of the first season of the HBO series. Strangely, my only quibble is that they did such a great job of matching the parody songs with visuals that I miss "seeing" the songs. Find a way to purchase the DVD of the first season to see the nearly frame by frame reconstruction of the Pet Shop Boy's "West End Girls" video and song as "Inner City Pressure". I've had this sudden surge of interest in non-English artists and songs but not sure why. Maybe it's because I play music but don't write lyrics, though it may be it's something deeper. I was watching an interview with Mike Patton talking about the lack of lyrics in the Fantomas records and he brought up a very valid point; You can't have lyrics without having some sort of agenda.

"The Young Gods Play Kurt Weil" is a great album. So many people have done so many adaptations of Weil, but theirs is brilliant.
