All this teleportation talk is odd, 'cause that's not how I read it at all.

Rather, I read it as a sort of time-lapse montage showing what Arkady gets up to - ie she dances around and she has fun and she enjoys life in a simple, almost childlike way, whereas the others are all serious and depressed and cranky.

It's not impossible that she could run around the city and climb up the tower and stuff, but I guess I can see what everyone else is talking about.

    Thanks, Corey!

Here I thought I was about to stick my neck out as the only person who didn't see Arkady teleporting, but rather a time-lapsed series of images showing her day.

Not to mention, I get the feeling that even if Arkady could teleport, she wouldn't, because she'd rather walk and think and see who she meets.

I tried to rationalise it as time lapse, but the way she disappears so fast and how she is on top of the church tower (and having it pointed out in the next panel) means she must have gained amazing climbing abilities of teleportation. Plus the ability to block her mind from the others.

Seems like Arkady has achieved enlightenment through suffering.

Or she died but now only exists as a telepathic projection of herself enabled by the latent psychic power of the remaining populus or actual power of the other angels.
So she kind of returned from hell, given how she would have died.

Probably neither - still its fun this.

The art was beautiful in this issue. I loved the contrasting of the dark scene in the apartment to the colorful scenes in the water and the garden and the play yard. It took me from a hard place to a softer, happier place.

As the story pieces together, my questions increase.

I also enjoy going back and re-reading them. I find something new everytime.

Thanks for doing this for free. As busy as you are.

    I don't see`it as teleportation.
I see it more as not as anchored to reality as normal people.
This could also explain why she could "see" in time. She didn't predict the future. She might just have been there.

So instead of teleporting, she is moving reality around her. Like a warp engine doesn't make the spaceship move through space. It moves the space around the ship.

Remind me of this time-grenade. It frooze people in time for about 5 seconds.
Only in time though. Not in space, so the victim smacked into something at the speed of the Earth moving.
Mister Ellis used that trick with Italy in The Authority.

Thanks for the chat at Bristol on Saturday, Paul. And an insight into Freakangels production, and a chance to see some of your other work. I doubt you'll ever go penniless but, if you do, Murky Depths will always offer you a gig. . .

So I have a question? I'm not wrong in interpreting the tiny things hanging from Arkady's jacket as being dols dangling by their hair am I? I found this beautifully bizaar but I find it even stranger that no one has yet remarked upon the attention to detail in her outfit.

i dont think any more thought needs to be put into arkady's movements than she puts into them. she just goes with the flow.

I do think someone noticed a few eps back -- but aren't they sweet?

<blockquote>I find it even stranger that no one has yet remarked upon the attention to detail in her outfit.</blockquote> <ul><blockquote>I do think someone noticed a few eps back</blockquote></ul> <strong>Jamaicad</strong>, <strong>St.Bernard</strong>, and <strong>Methiel</strong> had commented on it previously <small>(<a href="http://freakangels.com/whitechapel/?CommentID=36593">Episode 8, April 9th</a>. <a href="http://freakangels.com/whitechapel/?CommentID=43977"> Episode 11, April 25th</a>, and<a href="http://freakangels.com/whitechapel/?CommentID=46886"> Episode 12, May 3rd</a>, respectively)</small>. Methiel's suggestion that it would be interesting to cosplay would be worth witnessing, if only to see how it translates. More a matter of poise than garments, seems like.
