I don't drink too much on the job, at least not usually.

The husband brings me bourbon sometimes, however.

It does not take much for me to feel the effects. Then again, it never has.

I can't really manage to read while drunk, so I don't think I could write more then a few words. My ADD is really bad to.

Depends on what I'm writing, and how I wish to write(ish)...

Bourbon to sit down and pound out a couple pages of what passes for prose.

Saki to pen some lines of poetry.

Colt 45s, which are the nastiest, most vile imitation of cheap beer imaginable, come in convenient one-and-a-half litre bottles for $6 CDN, and work wonders for essays and vengeful rantings. Usually have to switch to the mini-cassette recorder after two or three of those, though; for some reason my fingers stop working (not that my mouth is doing much better).

A shaken martini is a weak and watery martini.

Not that I'd touch them anyway, as I loathe gin. But a shaken vodka martini is a disgusting thing.

I'm having a time out until I can learn some manners.
I think I am with Spider on this one. Alcohol is not the least bit creative any more than huffing gas or glue. I don't really enjoy quality hallucinogens but feel sometimes they give you that change in perspective you need at certain times in your life. They should be treated with respect. Fasting for 24 hours and drinking lots of water is a good idea.

Now some good outdoor grown organic pot is great for helping ideas flow a bit better but the heavier indoor hydro can be to much of a good thing if you actually want to accomplish anything. I hate speed and coke but some people have had good results. I LOVE opiates but they absolutely KILLED my sex drive and are quite habit forming both physically and psychologically. Personally I don't understand why one harmful drug alcohol is good while other less harmful drugs like pot or even heroin are considered bad?
