After Foom's appearance in NEXTWave, WizKids, makers of HeroClix, released a Fin Fang Foom figure. HeroClix is a miniature game, so the Foom figure was a good foot tall. They did two different version of Foom for conventions, but both based on very early releases, one with him green and the other orange. But they all knew that people were wondering where the purple pants were. The sculpt was such that you couldn't even put purple pants on him if you wanted to.

Well, they heard our cries. And then realized how much money they could make.

They are doing events in a weekend in February with retailers, and will make available then a purple panted version of Fin. As I remember, those things are not cheap, but stores often get a display copy out these deals, so you will at least get see it. No news if the figure will come with its own Boom-Boom accessory.

"Fin Fang Foom put you in his pants!" is the greatest single moment in comics since "Dan, I'm not a Republic serial villain. Do you seriously think I'd explain my masterstroke if there remained the slightest chance of you affecting its outcome? I did it thirty-five minutes ago."

It would be even cooler if there was a way to put Machine-man in Fing's heart. Now with real heart exploding action!

    Indeed.

I'd kill for a collection of Nextwave figures, espicially of Machine Man, Red Dinosaur, and Father Robo-Death-Crush. :D

I used Fin Fang Foom in a supers campaign RPG I ran a few years back (using the system from the OOP Authority RPG) for a some people who were comic fans but not regular readers. The look on the face of the player when Fin Fang Foom stuffed his character into his pants was priceless.

I don't want to be in his pants.
It's ok, he doesn't have parts.
    He doesn't have parts?
No. That's why he's so pissed off.
So, why is he wearing pants then?
    Comics code.
    Fair enough.

The Nextwave version of Fin Fang Foom was my favorite until I read Fin Fang Four, then it became a close second.

Some putty, some paint, you can put purple underpants on him.
