I started out tonight prepared to post a story about Honda's ASIMO robot conducting an orchestra, and the fear it instilled in me that the robots will soon be coming for us. Instead, the story I was looking for was gone, and I found this:

'Fusion Man" soars above Swiss Alps

As terrified as I am of heights, this just looks awesome.

    Wow.

That guy is my new hero.

I'd love to give that a shot, terrifying though it may be.

How long before someone like me can buy one? That's what I want to know.

I for one, think Fusion Man and other superheroes will be here to save us from the Ultrons.

Man, I hope so. Of course, the robots will likely figure out how to make better jetpacks before we do, and will have no fear of flying them like we would, but there's always hope.

And even if there isn't, I still want one.

I, for one, consider this to be one of the greatest developments ever. Even better is that the jet pack was made from existing technology. The jets are German built model aircraft engines fueled with Kerosene producing 200lbs of thrust each. Although it's not planned for production, it's definitely a step in the right direction by a brilliant Swiss bastard.

Seeing MC Chris perform that song live was awesome! I talked to him beforehand and his voice actually sounds like that.

And yeah that guy is a true soldier.

Frankly, I can think of only one thing from looking at this thread.

    "My back ignites!"

What would this be used for other than for Air-Shows? With all the lawyers in the world, I'm sure we can exclude civilian use.

Can stealth be applied tech be applied to it?

What I appreciate most about this guy is that he built a release and parachute into the thing in case it fails and he has to survive a long fall, implying that it has failed before and he put in a backup system.

Oh, think of the military applications!

"Johnson! Here's 10 pounds of tent spikes and a jetwing. Have fun."

Maybe not even tent spikes, maybe just pennies. Almost everything becomes a lethal projectile at terminal velocity.
