^ All of that was brilliant.

I am still rinsing ExitingARM by Subtle. It is fantastic.

Also enjoying lots of MF Doom and Mos Def (and an excellent Def Vs Doom mash-up I torrented on Friday), and the first Kerrier District album, which is delightfully silly.

I've been conducting stress testing on Run On Sentence's debut album, and after listening to them pretty-much nonstop for a month and a half, my interest is finally showing signs of wear. Or it was until last week, when I saw them live, and they blew me away.

I also got ahold of Nick Jaina's most recent two albums last week, as well as some Laura Gibson. But mostly I've ended up looping Nick Jaina's "Bicycle" (it's on iTunes), which has some of my favorite lyrics of all time.

There's a bicycle that two crows ride,
And they carry the moon across the sky.
That is a lie, the moon is a pie,
Thrown long ago in a clown fight.
That isn't true, it's a hole in the roof
Of our mason jar, so we can breathe.

    My most recent favorites:

    Man Man - Banana Ghost

This is just too fantastic for words: Stevie Wonder on Sesame Street playing Superstition. Not only is the music fabulous, there is also a kid ROCKING OUT on the fire escape.

Nouvelle vague's self titled debut from ..05? Love the cover of teenage kicks. I love the original, but a slow down tempo version is great also. video that plays the song in the background.
I find as I get older, get more experience, I am able to relate to the music I listen to more and more.

Alabama 3's new album - well, most of it's not new being a retrospective titled Hits and Exit Wounds, but a few new tracks and remixes. Preordered it from the label, took a month to get here.

@ racingpenguings: Also, the guy playing guitar is Ray Parker Jr. who went on to become famous for the theme to Ghostbusters. I'm not sure if that adds to or detracts from the awesomeness of the performance, but there you go.

@tap - That's right, I knew that tidbit of info, but had forgotten about it. I think that's pretty great - who doesn't like the Ghostbuster's theme song?

@racingpenguins, haha that first vid is great.

What made it to the top of my this week:
The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble, - Dunno much about them, except Bong-Ra is a member and they're pretty great.
    You Me The Switch,
Let our enemies beware, - these two bands are great, and coming to play Brighton on June 19th...
Flies are Spies from Hell, - another good local band who I played a gig with last Friday.
