    I'm particularly interested by the idea of the pocket factions; I figured someone out there - aside from mark - wouldn't be entirely enchanted by the FAs and I can't wait to see who they are...

    My day is looking pretty damn silent, due to the fact that I have lost my voice and my throat appears to be made of razorblades. Thank fuck for the internet and the ability to type.

    practical use of the London Eye - I likes it.
    the angle on the watchtower is magnificent.

    i do like how Alice's eyes are yellow. i know i've said it before somewhere, but it is still true.

    my day will involve pancakes, a three year old, the metra and going into DC. also not thinking about money and bills and work for a few more days. ug.

    even in absentia, warren brings yet more angst into the fray. now enters jack and sirkka and dungeons.(?)! will the madness end? damn, i hope not.

    mr. duffield performs yet another masterful job with his art. the clouds throughout are just so realistic that i can smell the rain. applause for full panel page 4, however, i personally bow down to the steam from jack's boat (bottom panels) on pages 5 and 6. simply remarkable. thanks paul.

    (this, like most everyday, shall be a burden i am sure.)

    Last day of work before my trip. I'm going to have to wrap things up at work. And when I get home, I'm going to have to finish cleaning at home. Ick. At least I'm already packed.

    As you can see, today requires quite possibly an intravenous drip of pure, liquified caffiene. Have to help my mom pack up her classroom for the summer.

    I love the calmness of the setting. I get the feeling of a perpetual sunday morning, dust motes hovering in shafts of sunlight, the whole deal.

    Today is making me nervous. I'll be playing s solo gig today. One day's notice, full improv. Playing after two of the best noise/ambient bands I know (Hladna and Noises of Russia).

    Anyone got a spare safety net?

    Alice's look on the first panel of page three is classic. It's like an album cover for some 80's punk band. The cutaway to KK sleeping was fun. I really enjoy cutaways in general even though Family Guy has made them too popular for their own good.

    I've just noticed this comic has the rhythm of No Country for Old Men. The four panel format helps because it is steady like a film frame.

    I'm liking it but I really want to see things go wrong. The solemn conversations are solid though. I do tend to think of story in terms of filmmaking which means I'm dying for an inciting incident. Then again this is a serial that has no definite end (although I hope it does because the best comics do).

    edit: Today is the day I finish my screenplay. The goons are starting to hound me about it. I can't wait to make them shut up and read.

    Lovely as always.

    There had to be a Jack. Love the steam-ship. Wonderful how an interaction that small can say so much about Jack and Sirkka. How many have we got left to meet? We've got KK, Connor, Karl, Luke, Sirkka, Kirk, Arkady, Carolyn and now Jack. Plus Mark, who hasn't been seen but talked about plenty. Am I missing anyone? That leaves two more.

    Today is looking good. Laundry, baking (found a wonderful-sounding recipe for Irish Cream Brownies, that I just have to try), finish prep for my guest lecture spot on Tuesday, and get organized for this weekend's trip down to Louisville to see a bunch of good friends, including the nine-week-old offspring of one of the couples. Yay for more geeklings!

    It took me awhile to notice, because I take it for granted that Ellis doesn't do or get done by second rates, but the art here isn't just good, it's great. The iconic and photorealistic flow into and out from each other.

    I saw some older looking characters at the market, but I haven't seen any elderly in this community...

    I'm carpooling with someone twice my age today, as I have been for a few weeks. I'm not that old, thus neither is he, but the generational divide leads to some conversation walls as both of us know things we know the other can't know.

    So, after seeing Carolyn, and Connor's comments about FreakAngels having pale skin, I'm wondering if there's some sort of albinism that goes along with the psychic powers. The purple eyes sort of fit in and Kirk stays outside for days with no sign of a tan...I don't get the dark hair though.

    My day is a double shift followed by (hopefully) Iron Man.
