And they already have pictures up! It also looks like someone from JPL is twittering updates at http://twitter.com/MarsPhoenix if you can't resist up to the minute news. A little weird that it's from the perspective of the lander though.
It almost looks like NASA knows what it's doing, and is not actually a ring of ontological pranksters pulling our collective puds with this whole Outer Space Thing Ha Ha.
There's only one jetpack, and Dick Cheney has it. He's hanging on to it to make a quick get-away in case the next vice president finds his secret turkey rape room.
I'm amazed I hadn't heard a thing about this until today. Not the turkey rape thing, I mean the mars landing. Australia is playing a key role in receiving and passing on the transmitted data, and yet nothing has been said about it here until a few hours before the landing!
Some of the images are 3D!! Phoenix has a 'left eye' and 'right eye' camera, and if you have some 3D glasses (I'm using tool's 10,000 days album case XD) you can see mars in 3D omfg!
Ah right, is that looking at the images from a distance? If you mean something like magic eye, I can't do that. Even using 3D glasses my mind/eyes seem to force the images apart, and it's a real effort to push them back together :(
