    That truly sucks. At least he left behind a big body of work for us to appreciate.

    Pollack appeared in a couple of very funny "turn off your cell phone" announcements used in theaters.

    Very sad. I've been a fan of his since I saw Tootsie. And he's directed some of my favorite films.

    My favorite performance of his was in 'Death Becomes Her' when he examines the still-living and disturbingly unperturbed Meryl Streep's obviously broken neck.
