    Seems that the stupid is contagious these days.

    that this image

    is an Al-Queda vision of a Nuked America. It's being posted on those mysterious terrorist web sites that are out there in the ether planning EVIL.

    Oh, it's a vision of Post-Apocalyptic America all right.

    From the video game Fallout 3

    Good god, if they get their hands on Duke Nukem I predict blood in the streets.

    @orwellseyes

    Your first image link is broken. What is it?
  3.  (2424.4)
    Kotaku is running with the story now.

    It wasn't just the media, it was an INTELLIGENCE CONTRACTOR who mistook this high-rez game image for a terrorist fantasy.

    Now I feel terrorized.

    If stupidity makes Fallout 3 come out even later, I'm going to be really pissed. Do they not realize how long we've been waiting for that game?

    ...in other news, damn those are beautiful graphics. I can't wait!

    I saw that image and the terrorist story and thought 'Hey, that looks just like the Fallout 3 promos'.

    @Orson,

    That is hysterical. Absolutely hysterical.

    Its the first reason I have seen to give the game a look, since I have had little faith in its current development profile.
    Though I did love Fallout 1 and 2 of course. Hmm, maybe the same Intelligence crowd can get distracted when MGS4 comes out in 2 weeks.

    Does no one remember Independence Day?

    Honestly, this is such a stupid assumption to jump to, I think it was career suicide via bad press.

    @ zoem

    I remember it certainly. I also remember that it sent me in to a 10 minute long "oh my, are you serious?!" giggle fit.

    The world is a very silly place sometimes. :-)

    Fuck Independence Day, does no one remember Orson Welles' broadcast of War of the Worlds?

    It is that...

    Can't say for sure without seeing a hires version, but I think it's concept art (probably painter) rather than a CG render.
    I hope the game is as beautiful though! <3
    I recently played Call of Duty 4, and the moment where you see the nuke go off is just breathtakingly beautiful and such a horrific image all in one.

    @paul

    I remember going &*%&* NO!

    I couldn't believe they did it.

    It was awesome.

    The ending was great too.

    Oh yeah, terrorists really like wasting their time making CG renders of how the White House will look like after an nuclear attack. They jack off to that.

    Sigh.

    Absolutely. Superb game from beggining to end.
