Oooh that last one is really cool with your eyes being super contrasty and the shadow pattern.

Thanks, Trini. I just happen to have a wooden door with that pattern. So I said, "Oh, what the fuck, it's Saturday night" and off I went.

zoem, you're destined to be a redhead. DO IT. Or maybe a darker auburn?

Andrenavarro, Zoetica: Thank you. :) When I dyed my hair this time around it came out totally copper - I was ambivalent, but now I'm sad that it faded. Maybe I'll cowgirl up and do it up properly. Though I'm not sure if I should do that before or *after* I get a job... I'll have to think about it, a nice auburn with brighter red streaks I can tie up in a bun to look all professional might be a good compromise.

Vanessa: I was going to say I'll totally steal your red hair while you're sleeping, but today your hair looks lighter? Get some rest, girl. But gosh I like that shirt... Maybe I could steal that instead...

And Andrenavarro, handsome as always. I love that last one as well. Nice work.

zoem: It's hard to see what's really going on with my hair in that photo. It is now strawberry blond in front and dark red in back.
I am about to crawl to bed but I will see if I can't give you more of a sense of it with a few quick photobooth shots ... hang on.....

    For Ms. Zoem
    For Ms. Zoem

And the shirt I got a couple years or so ago in Paris, but I'm sure there are similar things to be found elsewhere.
(It's a handy thing and I use it a lot. One of my top travel garments, actually.)

Oh, and rest. Yeah. I'll try to get some of that, but every time I think I'm about to have a stretch where I can do that it turns out I have a tonne of other things to do.
    Oh well.

I ain't got no fancy hair, but I got raw sea critters at dawn for ya:

    uni

That's gorgeous raw uni (sea urchin) with cheap, shitty 7-11 rice at 8.30am this morning. We left at 6.30am and drove out to a festival on this remotish peninsular where the uni is the freshest it can be. I've had uni a few times since I came to Japan, as it's meant to be a delicacy, but I never really liked it. It's got such a... pungent after-taste. Turns out you have to eat it as fresh as possible, served in sea water coz this stuff was INCREDIBLE. It was everything I ever dreamed sea urchins could be. There's shiro-uni and aka-uni, the red one is rarer, more expensive, and more delicious. Awesomely it's actually called bafu-uni: horseshit urchin, coz it looks like horseshit.

    Here's the self portrait part:

    open wide

    Ahhhhh....

    nom!

    Nom!

    Mmmmmm!

I'm having a time out until I can learn some manners.
Almost not June anymore, at last I got some pixels!

My friend typsie on the right, unknown internet person in middle, I the shifty-eyed criminal in the back.

Expounding at a meetup for an internet group in Portland, capillaries exploding with caffeine, one side of my face seems to be kind of pissed off about something.

Andrenavarro - I like the last shot with the textured shadows. It kinda looks like you're in a confessional. If so, please don't use our real names and remember the phrase that Homer tells Bart is very important to get through life, "It was like that when I got here".

Insomnia. Watched the director's cut of Alien 3 and played with cat. Bushmills helped.

Been a while since I did one of these but I recently got a new lens, the ex moved out and I'm making a mess around my computer.
