The first Necessary Monsters trade paperback is coming out in February from AiT/PlanetLar. The book collects the complete story so far, including updated artwork across all five chapters and a brand new introduction by Kieron Gillen (Phonogram, S.W.O.R.D, Thor). The book is available for pre-order via your local comic shop using Diamond order code DEC09 0641. Alternatively you can purchase via your online retailer of choice – Forbidden Planet in the UK and Amazon in the US seem like good choices.
If you’ve enjoyed reading the series online, myself and Sean would really appreciate you showing that support by ordering a copy of the print edition. Sean needs to eat, and I need to install a new Jacuzzi in my private Helijet. Hell, tell all your friends to order a copy too - Helijet Jazcuzzi’s don’t grow on trees you know.
Holy Crap That's Cool. Just the "cast" list alone had me sold, but the stark bleakness of the art is great as well. I salute you (and then nonchalantly lock all the windows and doors). Edited to add: now having read a handful of pages, the script is pretty sharp as well.
So what's up with this? I ordered it from Amazon at the beginning of April, and just got a notice that the release date has been pushed back to October.
Wires have been attached voltage supplied, IT"S ALIVE ! Look out for the printed version of Necessary Monsters at San Diego

Hey look, that’s my name near the end there. If you’re in San Diego and want to say Hi, the best place to look for me will be at booth #2001, where First Comics have borrowed some space to setup shop from AiT. I’ll also be keeping an eye on e-mail, Facebook and Twitter throughout my stay, so do give me a shout if you’re at the show.
