long time listener, first time caller.

looking forward to hearing you spout off drunkenly, while drunk.

never attended a QnA. is the format a stern, Phil Donohue-like affair, with the Raising of Hands? the bar in the corner throws me off. not that i'm complaining...

and if at any time you feel the need to experience one of the most profound Tiki bars on the planet, The Hala Kahiki, my friends and i will be happy to give you a ride.

Yes. Or coming up to a mic on the floor.

I will put up here within the next few days the following:
- all the exclusive / debut items we'll have at the show
- Warren's signing times. There are loads of them, he HATES me for it, but we are going to try and get everyone taken care of.
- Rules for the signings.
- Info on the uber-cool WHITECHAPEL DRINK-UP for which Wizard has gotten us a big room at the convention center for Saturday night. The always-helpful Spiraltwist is going to help us pull this one off.

Thanks all!

With the Con ending at 6 and the Q & A not starting until 9:30 , does that mean we have to leave the convention center? If so, thank god Hooters is only a few blocks away...

Yes, everyone gets kicked out, even we exhibitors. I feel fortunate at times like these that I'll be staying in the adjacent hotel during the show, so it'll be relatively easy for me to wander back (drunk?) to the lobby and camp out with my DS Lite and/or N800.

a) WHITECHAPEL DRINK-UP is perfect and beautiful.

b) google Hala Kahiki, if you have two or three hours to kill and prefer to kill it with rum.
eight page menu, no food but the free and frequently reloaded bowl of pretzels on every table.
hardcore tiki for realz.

Who, besides Warren, will be at the con representing Avatar? I'm hoping Wolfer will be there or one of the other artists, of course I'm sure William will be there as well, which is rightfully good, will Ariana be attending as well?
4. (2612.9)
Mike Wolfer, Jacen Burrows and Max Brooks are our other big talent guests. Yeah, I'm along for the ride as well.
5. (2612.10)
Oh, yeah, I'll be there, Danny.

Which gets me thinking: When we meet in person, everyone from this site needs to remember to introduce themselves by their Whitechapel screen names so that we can all make the quick-connect. I've done a lot of shows where I've met and conversed with people, then found out a week later that I had previously and unknowingly talked with them online.

So I'll be looking for you, "Ferburton"! (Imagine the number of code names that will be uttered at the Saturday Drink-Up... Almost like a meeting of the Avengers.)

@Mike Wolfer

Do we need "Hello, on Whitechapel, my name is:" badges to wear while at the con?
6. (2612.12)
Couldn't hurt, I guess.

And even better, we also need a secret hand signal so that we can discern each other in a crowd. My suggestion is to "flip the bird" at William Christensen... He'll love the warm recognition and we'll all know you're one of the faithful!

Are there any bets being taken on whether or not Black Summer put Warren on a No-Fly list?
• CommentTimeJun 19th 2008
Will do Mike. Though that's what the monthly images are for, isn't it? To put a face to the name?

But yes, I shall introduce myself in the most proper of ways, I shall call you a bastard and then salute with my finger and introduce myself.

Can't wait to meet you talented artists though.

Will there be any Warren time at a Marvel-centric thing? Booth signing, panel?

I'm neither going, nor assuming that if Avatar is footing the bill on getting Warren to the convention that they'd want to share, but I'm sure there are Marvel fans of his that might not know he's going to be there...of course, then they probably aren't here to read this question...

They'll have to stumble upon him, like a lost treasure... that stinks of Redbull and cigs.

Don't forget to ask him to recount one of his conversations with Alan Moore.

What are the signing rules? I've been to a ton of cons but typically don't get stuff signed, and when I do I feel like an ass. I think there's about 5 things I'd like to get signed -- but I feel thats I'd like to avoid being the total jerk.. is 5 books too many?

@ToppsNYK

Just an aside, re: how many is too many. There will be people there with carts of books. No, really-- carts, on wheels. In my experience some signings have limits on the number of items, but with so many signings scheduled for the show, I'm sure you'll be able to get all five done eventually. Five is not a lot of books by convention standards. Don't worry about it.
