the human abstract has a new album coming out in august they are most accurately described as "mathcore", as much as it sickens me to use a "-core" term.
i hated their first album, as i am not impressed by fancy chord progressions.
they got a new guitarist, and while it's still mathcore-y, they've toned it down enough for me to actually like the preview track they put on their myspace. so, yeah.
9 songs from Chinese Democracy have leaked. Am I the only person listening to them? They’re interesting stuff, but not especially impressive as the culmination of over a decade in the studio. They feel lifeless in places—probably the result of an egomanical nutcase working with whatever musicians he could pay to work with him.

mostly this week I was asleep or half-listening to Clutch
Trojan Reggae for kids box set. My wife ordered it. I pointed out that we should make the most of our last few months of not having to listen to children's music, but it is actually very good, and is one of the Trojan box sets I didn't already have.
I'm fucking with Pandora for the first time and loving it. It's mostly successful in what it set out to do. The biggest problem is that they don't have pages for smaller bands that I like, like Think Tree.
Also, I recently discovered Shpongle, which is some marvelously trippy music. I recommend it for all. Last.fm page
