this may mean nothing to you kids, but some here like Warren might like to know about it, i suppose.
i wasn't as thrilled to see the video below as i thought i would, the nostalgia didn't hit hard; got the feeling they were playing for the 15-year old me. then again i still read superhero books.
anyway, MBV is back. who thought that was actually going to happen?
I downloaded that first gig and I'm surprised how much I like it. Old bands getting back together usually leaves me underwhelmed in every possible way, but this sounds even better then I could have hoped for.
I might even need to get tickets for one of the New York shows.
$50 a ticket?? Maybe if it was still '91. Too much for me for a reunion.
Any word if they are doing any new tracks? I thought for sure they would after being so predominately present on the "Lost in Translation" soundtrack, but I guess we just get a reunion tour.
Well, for everyones sake, I hope they put on a better show than the Pixies did.
Anthony yes I'm bitter and old, and turning 40 in three days
I bought my ticket for their concert in Paris (9th july) 3 months ago... Loveless is still my favorite album of all times :).
Andrew : where did you d/l the concert ?
By the way, the video above was obviously recorded with either a phone or a compact digital camera, and the mics on those things are puny little things, hence the horrible saturation. I doubt that the sound was that bad live, though it was certainly very very lound...
I went to see them at the Roundhouse in London on sunday. Pretty amazing, though the sound seemed a little clattery and dodgy at the start. Feed me with your kiss, come in alone, soon, slow, to here knows when, and you made me realise were the highlights for me. The 20 minute noise apocalypse during you made me realise was really. fucking. loud.
