    Is it just me, or everything he made so far is great?
    sure, he made only four projectsy so far, and only one is finished, but he maintains a certain level of creativity and talent in eatch one. and a high level it is.

    i'm mostly enjoying PAX ROMANA, due to my love to the alternate history concept, the "what heppens instead if..." ( if anyone share my love, i recommend orson scott card's Pastwatch) but TRANSHUMAN is one of the best SF i've seen in year.

    I feel we shuold expect great things from this man's career...

    Soon he'll burn out. He'll combine his literary savvy with a commercial edge and start cranking out spandex books like "Superboy and Noam Chomsky Adventures" and "Ayn Rand All-Star Showcase" and we'll see him at a convention or two trying to sell scribbled drawings of Spider-Man debating Edward Said. A sad end for such a promising career.

    and yes, i have been into this "hickman" fellow since the preview for nightly news- and it wont stop anytime soon. an amazing talent that i am extremely happy is "slumming it" in comics, when he could probably be doing anything he wants.

    S"funny. I was just thinking this morning that JH is basically a comics triple threat. I finished Red Mass and saw that he did the colors as well as the writing. So he writes, he draws and he colors. Not completely unique but the fact that he does all three so well is. Frankly, if he started doing Archie it would be worth a look.

    That having been said, I've heard he may have a plate in his head that causes him to speak in tongues and wet himself during electrical storms.

    yeah Hickman is awesome. I thought "Nightly News" disseminated information throughout the book in an interesting way.



    I'm also really looking forward to his "Salman Rushdie meets the Silver Surfer" crossover event.

    Anyway, I've loved all the stuff from him I've gotten. I haven't picked up Red Mars yet, but it's sitting in my pulls at the shop. I assume it to be great.

    I'd probably attempt some sort of internet church so all who respected and loved me could worship and gush in one readily-available place. Of course, it would ultimately fail, because really, who gives a fuck about me?

    I agree, though. I haven't noticed him around much, even when his new books hit he doesn't say much. Must be too busy being awesome.

    nice. i am a nerd, and i would venture to say if you are on a message board run by a comic author and his scary moderatrix, you are too.

    nerd doesnt have to be like stereotypical "nerd" though- i am also a cool dude, a scenester, a drunkard, a sweet boyfriend, and a responsbile adult. at various times and in varying percentages of course.

    also: i know youre joking, i am bored at work.
