    It's Friday, and while there's no comic today, there's still something lovely to start your morning.

    Do me a favor today, if you're so inclined? If you're coming to Chicago to see Warren, post your face here in the comments. Can't promise it'll actually help him recognize you, for he is quite possibly mad, but it will help him brief security would be nice to see who's going.

    well, I'll not be there, but I will be hitting the magickal age of 40 on the 26th, so everyone can have a drink on me, as long as they're free or someone else buys them.

    Start my morning? My morning started nine hours ago... there is no more morning in the UK until tomorrow. I suppose since all time starts in Greenwich and takes a while to flow to the states, it can't be helped.

    The interlude was interesting, I'd been sort of wondering how that stuff worked.

    I have to get my sorry ass to a con one of these days...

    EDIT: I am becoming a performance artist. I will go all the way to mime school if it means I can smoke cigarettes indoors. Although that would be an imaginary cigarette.... Hm.

    I'm having a time out until I can learn some manners.
    I'm going to say "Cough on it John" before today is over, I just know it.

    Possibly mad? I don't think there's any "possibly" about it.

    Is there an ETA on the shirts? I want that tank!

    I can't make it to the Con so I will envy those who can. I love how they got Warren listed as performance art so he can smoke! I also loved the last page of that little interlude. There are plenty of ways to write about writing. I always think the "where do you get your ideas" question is a silly one. Warren's explanation for where the ideas come from is as good as any I've ever seen, and far better than most.

    Well it seems like everything has conspired to rip itself away from me this week, including the newest Freakangels.

    I was, I must confess, slightly disappointed to not find a new installment. I wanted new Duffield artwork. However, computers will be computers and there's not much to be done I suppose... any chance of a double-installment next week? (don't hit me)

    Wish I was going to the con. *sigh*

    Warren - Sweet! By coincidence I'm gonna be at the con on Saturday! I had no idea you were representing! :)

    Loved the answer to that eye-rolling of eye-rolling questions to writers.

    Based on the Ellis description of the idea generation process, it seems to follow that the odds that regular watchers of Fox News or religious fanatics can produce a Warren Ellis-level (or better) writer fall into the realm of flipped pennies landing on their edge. Those folks pride themselves on blocking out information that challenge or question their world view.

    *laughs hysterically and then starts to cry*
    Sorry there's no FA this week, but one ep at a time is all this monkey can handle ;_;

    @Miranda's Eyes

    Right. Everyone has ideas pumped into them 24-7 and they don't even realise it. A better question (or worse depending on if they like answering questions) to ask a writer is 'how do you filter and organise your ideas'.

    @Paul Duffield

    That IS a good question. It's something that I personally struggle with a lot. Unfortunately, when I do get a good idea that connects to other ideas, I end up just morphing it into a structure as I'm writing it... and it's often a bad, bad idea. And I don't know any good editors to tell me how to fix it.

    As it is, though, I'm going to file that question away as "Something to ask people that are better at things than me."

    It's all lies.

    Everyone knows Ellis gets his ideas from Chip Zdarsky's drunken 3 am Twitter posts.

    Sorry about the computer mess-ups, hopefully next week will be better.

    And an "Amen, Brother!" to the 'how do you get your ideas' experience!

    I'm tired - it's William's fault. And we all know that Warren is crazy.
