BLACK SUMMER ALPHA reprints the sold out issues 0 and 1. This is the original uncoloured art for the wraparound cover by the mad Ryp in al its page-breaking glory:

I'm still waiting for the next issue to come out. I'm in love with this series and though I haven't liked much of the art, I have to say, that is beautifully done.

I wish this series would come true oh so much.

I expected to like this book, but it blew me away. It's fantastic. So is Doktor Sleepless. I think I'm a little late to the Avatar Press party. I have some catching up to do. I got the Apparat issues as they came out, but since then the start of Black Summer and Doktor Sleepless were my first issues from the company. I've since been picking up Streets of Glory, too.

Just when you think you've gotten used to Ryp's beautifully detail-heavy artwork, he comes along with a piece like that and ups the ante. And intensity.

I love Mark Sweeney's colours on the final version, too.

This is my favorite book from Avatar right now. Admittedly, I haven't checked out Doktor Sleepless yet. For shame.

    Stitchy-

Of the two, Doktor Sleepless is hands-down my favourite. They're both great, but there's something about that nurse...

I'm having a time out until I can learn some manners.
Black Summer is my favorite book coming out. I've gotten quite a few people on to it, our sub numbers are great and keep selling out on the stands.

I'm always telling the Avatar people we need to publish a Ryp coloring book for psychotic children.

Ha Jacen! Being the evil old bastard that I am, I'd market your coloring book idea to kids with Attention Deficit Disorder.

I still don't fully understand the eyes. Has he always had them floating around him or did he take them from his victims?

They're his Gun, I think. Most of the others have a Gun that looks more like a conventional firearm, but Horus has his Eyes.

Fantastic cover! I already have the singles - but dammit! This cover sings! Ryp rivals Darrow here for sure.
