Good morning, Whitechapel. Warren and most of the Avatar crew are in Chicago right now, and so are many of you, but it's time for the new episode of FreakAngels no matter where you are.
Good stuff - I love the splash of KK in flight. I'm reading from my home today, which makes a nice change from work. Mostly because you cant eat a boiled egg or smoke weed at work.
I'm reading from Chicago - think I slept about 3, maybe 4 hours. Woot! I should look more awake later, which would be good. Don't want to scare anyone when I hand out tickets today.
I'm on my first cup of tea - considering an IV drip at this point.
As usual, FreakAngels is a beauty to enjoy and I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens next week.
reading from the 3rd floor of my house, where the "big" compluter (as my 3yr old calls it) is located. Isis (aforementioned 3 yr old) is using her dad's tablet to play around on playhouse disney. at least its not tv.
i want a ride on KK's "bike". it kicks ass. i'm a bit worried about jack thou... that sailboat doesn't look friendly...
Very ominous, yes...... As ever, the full-page panels are just jaw-dropping. I just get such a palpable sense of freedom and "no I will NOT fucking lie down and submit!" from the sight of KK flying over the submerged streets. Beautiful.
from my living room with stupid news on the tv. cup of coffee in hand; longing to be in chicago, but stuck here in tucson. at least we had rain yesterday and last night which was nice.
good work paul, but that is normal for you. full page panel (pg.3) was just really good shit.
Another excellent Episode. I'm reading from my home office - in Chicago. Alas, I will not be able to drop in at WizardWorld - I'm off to Wisconsin for a long-planned brotherly drink-up weekend. I'm regretting missing the con - or at least the opportunity to see Warren, and other Whitechapelites. However, I'm quite happy to start a FreakAngels Friday morning without work, but instead with my own coffee, and a day of travel, reading and seeing my brothers ahead of me.
If FreakAngels were composed entirely of dialogue-free splash pages featuring KK flying a steampunk copter-bike above a drowned London, I'd still come see it every week.
Also, I'm worried about Jack. I get the idea that he's about to dive for supplies, which makes him even more vulnerable to whatever scary plans that sailboat has for him.
I want a Freak Angel's shirt like the characters have, not what's available in Chicago, where I can't go, too many states and things to do in the way. White or Gray lettering on that soft dull green long sleeve shirt...something Banana Republic had once when they only had their Mill Valley and S.F. stores. A real outlet then. But, whatever. Can't complain. The free online comic is the best. Right? Of course. We all enjoy it immensely, whether our house is flooded or our hearts broken. Time passes. We die. The End.
Am reading this at work, in Aberdeen, In Scotland - while the sun shines outside (actually its now gone behind a very grey cloud! is Warren controlling the weather now?)
Reading this from Casa Cthulhu (aka my house), Lansing, Michigan. Wishing I could be in Chicago.
Is it just me, or are those clouds starting to look dark? Rain on the way? It's still not that much past noon (all these pages, and it's still not much past noon on the same day that KK woke up with the boy from Lambeth), so that's not evening darkness by a long shot.
Do we know what time of year this is?
Splash pages are amazing, as always. I loved getting a better look at KK's bike.
So it sounds like the watchtower is for watching for human intrusions on their community. Interesting. I wonder how often that happens and how they deal with it. I suspect we will find out.
Why am I hearing the Jaws theme on that last page? Probably something to do with hidden menace and the water.
