Is it just me, or are those clouds starting to look dark? Rain on the way? It's still not that much past noon (all these pages, and it's still not much past noon on the same day that KK woke up with the boy from Lambeth), so that's not evening darkness by a long shot.

So it sounds like the watchtower is for watching for human intrusions on their community. Interesting. I wonder how often that happens and how they deal with it. I suspect we will find out.

Ok, now this one line has interested me - there is a reason why we don't have steampowered helicopters in real life, basically it'd be too heavy to fly. I was just going on the vibe for the episodes so far, that whole 'comic book logic' thing - now I'm not so sure. I think this was our first glimpse of Mark. I looked carefully in other episodes and I saw no one else wearing gloves, neither Freakangels, pirates or the boat-based invaders. Granted the skin doesn't look especially pale, but that could be the angle and the shadows. Or perhaps Mark does something to darken his skin. ]]>
