I'm quite shocked, and didn't even know he had cancer. Very sad news.

I knew he had cancer, but all the news after his latest operation had been so positive... This has hit me so hard and his passing is a great loss for the industry.

Turner was the guy who got me into comics! If I hadn't been a fan of comics, I wouldn't be a fan of Warren Ellis, and I wouldn't be here today!

    Life's not fair.

Micheal Turner? Really? Wow. Though I was never particularly fond of his work as I think there should be more to comic books than women who are virtually naked, I don't think anyone deserves cancer. Especially a creative individual, even if I don't agree with his work. May you rest in peace, Mr. Turner, you shall be missed.

Man, that's too bad. I remember reading in Wizard back in 2000 about him finding out he had cancer after he broke his leg skiing (I think that's right). I may not have always enjoyed his work, but I've always loved his enthusiasm.

To me, his art had ups and downs. He made some very nice covers and splash pages, but in the little details he wasn't so good. I remember reading a drawing tutorial he made for Wizard, in which he gave some good tips (something useful for an amateur artist like me). He also seemed like a great guy from the few things I've read of him, although I can't say because I never knew him personally.

Rest in peace, Michael. Sorry you're gone so early.

Wasn't a big fan of his work, but he did have talent (certainly a lot more then a guy still trying to draw things that aren't shite stick figures) and seemed to be a pretty decent guy.

RIP, sir, and the best for his family and friends.

I wasn't a big fan of his work, but he seemed to be a guy who really enjoyed what he did (based on the interviews I read in the past) and it's always sad when someone passes away so young. Condolences to his friends, family and fans.

I truly admired his enthusiasm for comics. What a year for heartbreak, I hate this.

Son of a bitch. Last I heard he was doing pretty alright. This really, really sucks.

Dude had so much talent to be taken at so young of an age.

Rest in Peace, Michael. Where ever you are, I hope they give you a drawing board.

We'll miss you, man. Very much so.

i hate to second what is pretty much a pointless statement after someones death, but i couldnt stand his work, and he was regularly the butt of many comic nerd jokes around me...but this still kinda hit me hard, and i dont know why. maybe i have finally discovered this thing called " compassion". rest in peace, michael.

Like a number of people here I was never fond of turner's art - but I did greatly admire him for starting up his own company in a very hostile environment. I admired him even more for the way he handled his illness and kept his company going (admittedly with some hitches along the way) under what must have been incredibly trying circumstances.

I had the good fortune to meet Michael when he did a signing at a comic shop I worked at. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met and it's sad that he is gone. So, in order, if I have them right, we have Kurt Vonnegut, then Lance Hahn, then Nugget (my cat), then George Carlin and now Michael Turner. Can we fucking stop already? Jesus. This is getting ridiculous.
