    This is in partial response to Sarpedon's query about sf research. I'm posting this separately because this is more about comics in general and I think (or I'd like to think) it warrants its own discussion.

    Teacher's College at Columbia established the Comic Book Project geared towards promoting literacy among younger children using comics as the teaching tool.

    Additionally, Columbia itself recently established a graphic novel library . Its website includes tips on how to conduct scholarly research on the subject. It's an exceptional resource.
