So, this is my first post other than an introduction and I thought I'd ask a couple questions I've been pondering that seem to not be findable through the use of the search function or other sources.

First. Was "Ocean" ever released in HC or Library Binding form? According to amazon there was a Library Binding release, but I can't find anything else about it anywhere.

Second. Is there any plans to get Transmetropolitan out in HC form? I really want to check this out, but have been holding out hoping for a HC release.

Um...I might be the odd one out here, but does it really matter if it's in hardcover? I mean...you'd be getting the same comic and really isn't that all that matters?

I can understand if you want something hardcover because you really love the material, but if you're not familiar with a title you'll be spend something like double the price for something you may not like. I've also found some HC titles are really flimsy compared to paperback versions.

I've found I tend to destroy softcover books/comics, so I've decided that if I'm going to spend the money at all, I'm going to get something that will last.

There are no plans to release Transmet in any sort of HC format, according to Warren.

Here is a response about an Absolute version of Transmet, which would also kind of go hand in hand with a hardcover, I think:

(That' just the first one I could find relating to other versions of Transmet.)

Warren's mentioned on a number of occasions that there are no plans for hardcover Transmet collections.

The question that's come to me as I've been reading through the series (currently waiting for collection 8 to come in, though I have read the series before) is this:

Is the Smiler based on any particular politician, or just every slimeball politico you know of, Warren?

Warren's said in the past that he thought the Smiler was based on Tony Blair, until John Edwards came along.

And honestly, we had a Q&A here earlier this year, and Warren just got back from another in Chicago. I'm going to close this thread up so he can have some peace for a little while...

    I can handle this one:

First. Was "Ocean" ever released in HC or Library Binding form? According to amazon there was a Library Binding release, but I can't find anything else about it anywhere.

There was no OCEAN HC. I have no idea what a Library Binding form is, but since I was never sent a Library Binding Edition, I'm going to go ahead and say there wasn't one.

Second. Is there any plans to get Transmetropolitan out in HC form? I really want to check this out, but have been holding out hoping for a HC release.

Remember, things like this are largely out of my control. DC have the collection rights. That said, I have never heard anything about an HC release for TRANSMET ever.
