I'm trying hard to come up with a "Britney driving the donkey cart without putting baby Jesus in a carseat" joke but I just can't work up the enthusiasm.

Not at all surprising when you read that it is a Satire : )

"Her potential character Mary is a pregnant 19-year-old unsure of her baby's paternity, who goes into labour on Christmas Eve in Bethlehem, Maryland, as rumours swirl that the birth is Jesus Christ's second coming. "

If anyone can play a pregnant teen with no idea who dad is, its Brittany. Besides who else in our time would be careless enough to let her son get crucified (probably while she was on her cell).

I don't think Jesus could keep Himself from coming back to bring about the end of the world after seeing Brittney impersonating his mother.

I'm just saying, your just asking for the Apocolypse with a stunt like this.

Well the sense of humor would run in the family. Look at the the platypus.

That kind of thing comes from either a good and twisted sense of humor, or habitual drug use...

now that I think about it...

That may be the best comment i have heard all week. Mostly because it's true.

Alanis Morrissette as God in Dogma, hilariously funny. Brittney Spears as the Virgin Mary? So incredibly sad. I know the dude is going for irony, but come on. Suspension of disbelief has to count for something...

Alanis Morrissette can destroy mortals with the sound of her voice, so yes that was appropriate for Dogma ; )
I'm pretty sure the casting list will look like:

    "Virgin" Mary.....Brittneu Spears

Irony or sadness aside, Spears can't act! So I guess she really should not be cast based on that alone : )

In my view, the God that said "You want meat so bad? I'll give you meat until it comes out of your flipping NOSE!" has a sense of humor, yes.

(Paraphrasing Numbers 11, by the way.)
