There's a good chance we'll get some new traffic to the forums today and the rest of the week -- asking about the trade, about Paul's appearance in Texas this year. Anyone who'd like to help point new folks in the right directions is going to be doing me a huge favor.
Friday already? I was away last week in Norfolk (the mostly flat one on the Eastern side of England) and didn't catch up with episode 20 until Monday, so it feels like a short week. While I'm sad that we didn't get the next episode, I'm happy to see the news on the trades, particularly the hard cover, and even more on the special signed hard cover. I'm a sucker for signed limited editions. If the series is going on for some time, there will end up being quite a few 144 page hard covers that might benefit from a nice slipcase sometime in the future...
Is Warren going to be doing any signings in the UK in the near future? I can think of a few comic shops near my office and not so far from Whitechapel that would benefit from a signing.
These look beautiful. I'm the sort who likes to, I know this is old fashioned, curl up in bed on a Saturday morning with a book and some tea. So having FA available this way will make some future Saturday mornings much nicer. 'cos as much as I love getting my shiny pixel fix every Friday, I love me some good smelling ink.
Gorgeous rendering on the title particularly, on the hardcover. Though I'm quite partial to the lazy afternoon feel of the TPB image...
I've been massacred by a headcold this week. Just started feeling the first faint tingles on tuesday evening, and then BOOM! Full blown sinus trauma. And tomorrow night is my girlfriend's 21st, so I'm gonna have to sit through late night festivities while going through all this too...
Weird week, holding baited breath for news on Monday as to whether or not we've had an offer for our house. Lots of interesting new things from the b0rg to keep busy too.
Course, the question on everyone's minds are...how much are they? Specifically, will there be a big price difference between the regular HC and the signed one?
If this was mentioned in the notice, do forgive me--was up all night squeeing in fanboy glee over TDK.
today is hurting and (as usual) it's my own fault. I have a monthly dinner meet up with friends of mine from MBA school that live in this area. Last night we went to hooters (no, not my choice at all, but I'm not in charge) and I drank too much crap beer and ate too many crap hot wings.
Of course, given the option of a hardcover, I will probably get the hardcover. *sigh* Damn my addiction and my love of pretty books.
My week has been weird with getting fillings and actually having a full day on Wednesday. Wednesday ended awesomely - a friend and I went to a show in one of the surrounding towns - we saw Mucca Pazza (circus punk marching band) which was an amazing show with a great crowd. Other than that, pretty normal. I swam yesterday and got stung by a bee in my neck (not that bad actually). Yep.
I guess I don't really understand the whole paying a premium for signing thing - is it just that it's now a first-class relic of the author and artist, or what? I understand getting signings in person, but buying something signed doesn't move me. Which of course, means I don't have to buy it. ;)
