Marc Caro – with some great films like City of Lost Children and horrible films like Alien Resurrection at his resumé – return to the science fiction side with "Dante 01". Without his great partner, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, I dunno if the things will be fine, but the synopsis online promises something:

Deep space, at the edge of the galaxy. The future. A new prisoner arrives on top-security prison ship and psychiatric research unit Dante 01. Sole survivor of an encounter with an alien force beyond imagining, Saint Georges is a man possessed by inner demons, caught up in the battle to control the monstrous power within him. It’s a power that will infect the other highly dangerous occupants of Dante 01, [jailers] and prisoners alike, unleashing a violent rebellion that turns this terrifying, labyrinthine world upside down. In the otherworldly hell of the ship’s depths, through danger and redemption, each must journey to his very limits… each must confront his own Dragon. A unique science-fiction nightmare vision, Dante 01 is the long-awaited solo debut from the legendary co-creator of The City of Lost Children and Delicatessen.

This sounds promising. I love City of Lost Children and Alien Resurrection (which I've had to defend many times). The most like a horror movie of the entire Alien series (although 2 will always be my fav). Thanks for posting this, its one more to watch for.

It wasn't Caro who directed Alien: Resurrection, although he did work on it as a "design supervisor". It was the "great partner", Jeunet who directed that film (which I also happen to like.)

That being said, this looks pretty cool.

Alien: Resurrection had its spectacular visual moments, but had a murky plot and goddamned Winona "I have two facial expressions and both of them look dumb" Ryder. Still, I loves me some Ellen Ripley.

The male lead in Dante 01 looks to be the same guy who played the Merovingian character in the Matrix movies. Interesting...
