    amateur copy?

When I see things like this, a pirated, shaky, hand held camera copy of the first 6 minutes of the movie, I always wonder if this is really something the studio doesn't want out there, or is it a kind of viral marketing to get everyone interested in the movie.

I could totally see someone in advertising saying "put this crappy copy on you tube, but only leave it up for 3 days so we can maintain some underground promotion."

    anyway, here is the link

    and ignore the title...

    That wasn't bad at all...

Certainly a different take on the Joker's deformity.

Aaaah. Another film I won't be going to see.

Not enough romance for your discerning palate, Warren?

Are you intending to get up everyone's noses today?

I rather liked it. It was not the usual suspects or the Godfather but it looks like enough to keep me entertained for 90 minutes.

I would lay money on it being viral marketing. It is to perfect a teaser to be an accident.

This was the first few minutes of the film made available to winners of a contest as part of the viral marketing campaign.

I think the ploy is pretty genius, really, in an old-school mystery story "just crazy enough to work" way.

They showed it in front of I Am Legend when I saw it at the IMAX.

Personally I really don't care for most superhero films even though I keep seeing them all. Batman Begins was one of the few I felt challenged the rest of the superhero flicks to be real movies instead of complete trash. So on that end, I very much look forward to seeing what the same crew does for the sequel.

IMO Ledger's Joker has a tough act to follow. Not Nicholson - Mark Hamill in the animated version (and the animated movie Mask of the Phantasm, which I still think is better than Begins.)

This is the first time in aaaaages that I've found the Joker genuinely creepy.

I've always said that the one who could combine the evil of Nicholson's Joker with the insanity of Cesar Romero's Joker would have the superior Joker.

Mark Hamill's still my favorite, though.

I kind of liked the regular trailer better than the preview one. Gave a better glimpse of the movie. I like and kind of cringed at the similar moment of Joker in the middle of the road shooting at Batman, causing him to crash his vehicle. But, I think that Ledger looks and in particular sounds fucking great!!

    This I dig.
I also liked their was now frecking commentary both in text or in voice overs. Let me figure it out damn it!
But yeah based off the first one, I'll definitely watch

Ever since seeing The Machinist I really like Christian Bale. He looked like he virtually killed himself for that role. Definately looking forward to watching this film at the IMAX.

I think this is what they showed before the movie "I Am Legend" if you saw it at an imax theatre.

I never found Nicholson's Joker particularly evil, I must admit.

Apparently, he lost 60 pounds for the role in the Machinist, and then immediately gained 100 pounds for his role in Batman Begins.

from the smidge given by the trailer, Nolan went all out on realism. This is going to be the death of the superhero film as a formulaic genre. (hopefully. there will never be enough nails on this coffin.)
