When I see things like this, a pirated, shaky, hand held camera copy of the first 6 minutes of the movie, I always wonder if this is really something the studio doesn't want out there, or is it a kind of viral marketing to get everyone interested in the movie.
I could totally see someone in advertising saying "put this crappy copy on you tube, but only leave it up for 3 days so we can maintain some underground promotion."
They showed it in front of I Am Legend when I saw it at the IMAX.
Personally I really don't care for most superhero films even though I keep seeing them all. Batman Begins was one of the few I felt challenged the rest of the superhero flicks to be real movies instead of complete trash. So on that end, I very much look forward to seeing what the same crew does for the sequel.
IMO Ledger's Joker has a tough act to follow. Not Nicholson - Mark Hamill in the animated version (and the animated movie Mask of the Phantasm, which I still think is better than Begins.)
I kind of liked the regular trailer better than the preview one. Gave a better glimpse of the movie. I like and kind of cringed at the similar moment of Joker in the middle of the road shooting at Batman, causing him to crash his vehicle. But, I think that Ledger looks and in particular sounds fucking great!!
This I dig. I also liked their was now frecking commentary both in text or in voice overs. Let me figure it out damn it! But yeah based off the first one, I'll definitely watch
Ever since seeing The Machinist I really like Christian Bale. He looked like he virtually killed himself for that role. Definately looking forward to watching this film at the IMAX.
from the smidge given by the trailer, Nolan went all out on realism. This is going to be the death of the superhero film as a formulaic genre. (hopefully. there will never be enough nails on this coffin.)
