    So good. It sucks that my first purchased issue of Phonogram is also the last, but it means I have the back issues to pick up....

    Between the Singles series and the Rue Brit... TP is there anything I'm missing? (Was Rue Brit in color in singles issues and then b/w for the trade?)

    Etc.

    Basically, awesome series, sad to see it go, what everyone else said.

    @ebullient,
    Nope, Rue Brit was in b/w only. McKelvie made the jump to color for The Singles Club. And what a jump it was!

    So I've read it for the second time, this time I was geeky enough to read it while listening to the song "Wolf Like Me" and it the nice calming breakdown in the song happened just as I turned the page to the two page spread of Penny which just seemed like a perfect match up of tone shift for them both.

    I expected KWK's story to be off the wall and awesome, but not to the point where it was chillingly fantastic and made the hairs stand up as I read the last few pages. Happens a few times throughout the series in fact, so truly thanks for that! More comics need to make me so gleefully excited and immersed in them as Phonogram has, especially the second series.

    Please let us know if you discover how many sacrifices are needed for a third series!

    Shucks.

    I'm too hungover to say anything other than that. I'm just glad it worked for everyone.

    @Allen:
    I did exactly the same thing, with exactly the same result (never having heard the track before). Very cool to think it was deliberate on creators part!

    The sort of concept of the issue was trying to mirror the structure of the actual pop song. I think we're minus a verse and a chorus, but the basic sort of shape of it is there. If you squint.

    This is my first comment on this forum after lurking for a year or so.

    My command tonight to everyone I know (through the magic of internet):
    "even if you don't read comics or think about music or know anything about Britpop (b/c I sure as hell don't), you should still buy Phonogram - The Singles Club."

    Outstanding issue, fellas. Heck of a way to go out. Hope someday there will be more, and I sure as hell wouldn't have said that after I read the first couple of issues of Rue Brittania...

    Thanks, everyone.

    If you take every appearance of the word "Kenickie" in all of Phonogram (including the back matter), note down the Cartesian coordinates within the page, and reassemble it, it forms an ASCII image of Aleister Crowley being fellated by Murdoc from the Gorillaz.

    Yes. This is true.

    Hmmm, my calculations show that it's an image of Aleister Crowley being fellated by Justin Timberlake. Must have forgotten to carry a 2 someplace...

    Man, I think I got bit by Phonogram No Idea style on this series. I found two of the original issues of Rue Brit (4 and 5) and now I'm getting the itch to buy the single issues in addition to the two trades I already own...

    CURSE/LOVE YOU ELLIS/GILLEN/MY OWN AVARICE/KHAN!

    Phonogram makes me wish I liked music more than I do, as much as I enjoyed Rue Britannia I kind of felt like I was missing out a little. I do however love a good story and some spanking art and now that McKelvie has this thing in colour I'm seriously thinking about grabbing Singles Club tomorrow at my local.

    So I have now officially bought this series twice now, the second time I got the trade for my friend for her birthday. How many more times do I need to do this for there to be a third series?

    Go and vote for it in the Eagle Awards, if it gets enough of them, it might happen. Link, someone?

    I read the trade today. I think I enjoyed it more than Rue Britannia. Or maybe just in another way. I hope there's more someday for me to enjoy even more. Or in another way.
