    Hey all,

    Setting up a Ning page and was wondering if there's any way to enable or jury-rig a chat at all.

    You could probably hack together a web chat / shout board system for Ning with PHP.

    if you've got an IRC chatroom on a good server, a Java chat widget would by my preference. IRC has sorted out a lot of the issues with realtime multiuser chat that other implementations are just figuring out. Talkinator has the advantage of requiring no setup and no server.
