    The "painting and drawing and things" thread has gotten huge. So here's a fresh start, for the artists pro and am -- post your art, sketches, works in progress, whatever, right here. The old thread seemed to have created quite a little subcommunity of artists, so it's time you had your own monthly space...

    here's Early Cuyler from Adult Swim's SQUIDBILLIES, which might be my favorite show on television. it's like an acid flashback to my own childhood.

    wild as hell!

    @ krakatoakatie:
    I love that stuff! I went to an expo of Hokusai in Paris some weeks ago & the level of quality, emotion & drama just stunned me.
    Lovely work

    Hi all, we have an upcoming FREE COMIC BOOK DAY special coming up in Ireland and as part of this, we're doing an anthology which I've been invited to contribute a six page piece to (I do a radio show for Irish comics chain Sub-City and recently had my first book published, a collection of short stories up on ) for which I need an artist.

    If you're interested, contact me at or derek_zoolander2005 on yahoo messenger. This is not a paying gig but it is something that will get you exposure and in print and will definitely lead to being offered more work.

    Thanks for your time

    Thank you for the space. Im' slowly getting back into illustration and comics projects (mostly in french) ...

    Here is a character design for a graphic novel project (I'm still working on the style) :

    This is my "Hatchet girl". Sooner or later I will start a serie of crime/horror oriented stories that will fuse progressively together. The style should be developped into something more spontaneous and it needs to be be fast-written and fast-drawned :

    This is a test for a graphic novel (sorry for the dialogues are in french) :

    And here is a sample page for a soon to be finished "photographic novel" project (I just need to find time to finish the dialogues) - Photography and comics were always a weird and unpopular mix (or badely popular), but I'm sure there is still something to be done in that area :

    More stuff here : With a few online comics (sorry everything is in french and no this doesn't mean that there is going to be a lot of sex.).

    I'm not a good visual artist (although the only college I considered was the Academy of Art in SanFran; for sculpture. I was accepted but I didn't go). But the artist who does the art for my private comic projects has inspired me, so I'm trying to get some art practice into my routine. I mostly erase everything I do, but I kind of liked this one, of a friend of mine who visited, whom I have no pictures of:

    @krakatoakatie I love that.

    @Shari That's really quite beautiful. I'm quite fond of your style.

    Here is an odd thing I did on one of my band mate's jacket.
    Since then, all of the work has suffered from various scrapes and abrasions; except for the "eye".It is pristine.
