This thread must contain nothing but photos of the outside world that you have taken yourself.
Seriously. Take a shot on the way to work. When you're out at night. Show us where you live, the area you live in, the local landscape. Stuff like that.
Inwood Hill Park, down by Gaelic Field. In the distance are the lights of Riverdale, a wealthy section of the Bronx, and to the left, the Henry Hudson Bridge.
Here is a car left at the end of my street, a monument to Not Fucking Your Girlfriend's Sister.
Hua Shan, one of China's five holy mountains. The steps were carved into the mountain itself so the Emperer could climb to the peak to watch the sunrise.
This week I'm back in Edmonton, and this thread has reminded me that I have a local photo blog I've been neglecting. Will have to get on that. For actual real this time. Probably. Meanwhile, one from earlier in the year that I like:
I'll try to get some recent wintry pics up soon, if I can recover my point and shoot from my roomate, or ever remember to charge the battery for my SLR.
This might be my favourite thread. I am a big fan of seeing places I do not know. Someone else's Ordinary Place is my Exciting and Unseen. I have in the past asked online friends to do something similar to this for me, just taking pictures of places around their town that it is almost certain I would never see otherwise. It's kinda part of how I am aiming my blog :)
Coming out of work on a rare day before the sky goes black:
Sunset over the Mississippi River:
Mississippi River now:
Living 2 blocks from the river actually has me getting out just to go take pictures now, rather than just snapping things as I see them, and prompted me to upgrade to Flickr Pro, go exploring.
