To be honest I think they should leave that cover alone. You know especially the Vol 3, with Spider at the top of the building, viewpoint looking down. That cover made me pick up Lust for Life, made me demand more, made me love Ellis, brought me here, spent most of my money...
@dot_xom - I've lost count how many times I've read it. I've actually called people "whorehopper" during ... conversations, let's say. Lemme tell ya, it works!
My favorite line? "Someday, I'm going to drop a bomb on this city. A contraceptive bomb."
Please, I hope they never make the movie. Yes, give Warren millions of dollars. But no. No movie.
I'm having a time out until I can learn some manners.
Although 5 big $20 paperbacks would be better, this isn't too bad. Evens out the look of the series. Also, the book really took a leap forward after the first short storyline, so it's nice that new readers will get a taste of that.
Perhaps it also means full-sized covers in a couple of the earlier books.

These volumes are being reconfigured due to retailer requests for a more consistent page count in the series’ early volumes. Please note that this supersedes the previous announcement regarding this series. Volumes 5-9 will remain in print in their current configuration.
Can anyone confirm that I'm reading things correctly volume 9 will remain the same? That's the one I'm missing from my collection (my FLCS can't get hold of it) (they're usually very good). I know it's a little sad, but I'd like to have them looking all the same on my bookshelf
So... I have just ordered volumes 3 and 4 off abebooks. I have read transmet in the past and loved it and decided to collect them all for my collection. Don't ask me why I started with 3 and 4. The thing is I read them ages ago and cannot remember much about them. Anyway I wasnt aware until now that they are reprinting them. Is there any easy way to tell if I have the reprinted version or the reprint?? Is there an easy way to tell which version I am getting when I order them online??? Thanks heaps -M
The logo down the side. Yea that will help heaps:) , now I can easily identify which ones I will have when they arrive. The only problem that leaves is making sure the new ones I order online are also the reprints.
I guess if i am careful it shouldnt be too much of a problem.
I've heard it will never happen, but I would gladly pay $150-$200 dollars for a Giant,Coffee-Table Destroying Absolute Edition of Transmetropolitan. Or if thats not possible,2 or 3 Absolute Editions in the $50-$100 range. I already own the original TBP's,but they are ratty and well-traveled(as all good books should be). I worry that when the time comes to replace them, the current editions being made by DC wont be of as high a quality.
yea 2 or 3 absolute editions would be the bomb. only because it probably be cheaper than getting each trade separately.
does anyone know if the reprints are of similar quality to the original trades? and will the one shots being added to the final trade get in the way of building to a conclusion properly? (I havent read the final stories yet)
