    Or: Book Two, Episode One.

'morning, Whitechapel, happy Friday. Days are getting shorter -- it's very decidedly still dark out there, instead of the kinda-mostly-still-but-almost-not dark it has been. How'd we all do this week?

Out of the many beautiful moments in that episode, I think the final page is probably my favourite. All's well.

And heh, I see Arkady has her vodka. Heh.

This week has not been bad, with hindsight and all. Last day at main income job yesterday with no replacement work as of yet but an absolutely amazing night at the ICA seeing Amanda Palmer followed.

I think Paul Duffield's art is getting even more beautiful. The London Eye frames were just gorgeous.

This week was ass on a stick, but this makes up for it. Really beautiful. I love how I feel like I can almost hear Arkady's voice in *my* head... she comes across as having a certain voice, and that is really cool. I don't usually get that kind of auditory link from comics.

I really, really want to thank Warren and Paul and the Avatar crew for bringing this to us every week. It's just brilliant to have a work of this quality metered out to us for nothing at all on our part. Of course, I am one of many who will be buying the trade(s) - but none the less, it makes my late Thursday night insomnia bearable, knowing it's flipped to Friday in other parts of the world.

Now, back to holding an icepack on my jaw...

Well, I have the center of a storm above me as I type that has meandered across Florida this week in a half-assed attempt to bring the watery environs of Freakangels to my state. The tree outside my door didn't even loose a branch this time. Luckily Friday morning is still a constant.

Sirrka shockingly clothed, and Arkady sobering up perhaps? I feel bout 4-5 weeks of nicely paced revelations of how often the 'Angels get attacked, shadowy words exchanged within the factions of the 'Angels themselves, and maybe a hint if either of our unrevealed characters are in the same league of being a prick as Luke. Bonus: whatever happens at nighttime in Whitechapel when you have no electricity.

That and a rematch of Luke/Arkady or Luke/Kirk would snap us back to blood, telepathy & big guns time.

Happy Friday to you, too, Ariana.

This week was a nice change of pace, the gorgeous colors and drawings allowed for a very relaxing read.

    The episode:

Paul's sky is brilliant. I also love how Arkady frames the down-the-dock shot. I could still feel Sirkka's "come home" request from last week in the dock scene, and combined with the color palette this week, I had all sorts of warm fuzzies. I find it amusing that as we're coming into autumn and winter, we're also going into evening and night in Whitechapel. I'm hoping night isn't as bleak as winter...

    The week:

Pretty ass all week. Those who keep up with me on twitter know (probably) that they done took my interwubs away, so I've been phonernetting it. While I love my phone, I do wish I had a bluetooth keyboard. My thumbs get sore. The lack of net has been making me catch up on some games I've been meaning to play, though.

Oh, and also I ran into my ex-fiance that was supposed to have moved back downstate. If she moved back up here to go to school that means she'll be attending class less than a block away from my apartment. But at least we might be moving in the near future...

Also the starter went out in my car, so there's an expense I ould have liked not to incur.

But, as I said, we might be moving, which I'll provide more details on later, since this isn't Saturday and I'm treading dangerously close to Stomp territory.

this was very nice. there was a refreshing overtone of humanity in this weeks snippet. i also agree with most everyone; paul, you do for lines and colors what warren does for words: make them most tasty. there was a tasty thickness in this one that was almost musical.

    Happy Friday, Ariana.

..and that FA snippet was made of cute.

Very cute and sweet first episode for the new book.

You know, I grew up with the hair-raising sound of air-raid sirens and the nauseating thought of the nukes coming. I can only imagine the comfort from an "All is Well" announcement across a plaza and this episode is probably as close as I'll get. Thanks for that.

Blast radius of a military base? I remember that. We still ducked under the desk for drills when I was a kid.
