obviously would love to write comics, not as obviously have written the first three issues of a series to be drawn and published by an insane and talented native american artist here in vegas.

have the first 10 pages of issue 1 in the bag artistically. now am in a holding pattern on the rest. are on schedule to have actual floppies out and in hand before next year's san diego con.

so am a little closer to dream than pipe dream.

I would love to be a comic book artist, or at least create comics in some fashion.

Time has shown me again and again, though, that I don't have the temperament for it. But there's a teeny-tiny, shriveled-up piece of my soul that occasionally whimpers and squeaks and says "Maybe...maybe you could..."

Then the rest of my soul (aided by the "real world") beats the hell out of him till he shuts up.

But he's a durable little fellow, that wee little soul-guy...

Why do you ask? We're not on some kind of a "hit list" now, to eliminate potential competition, are we? (Like the "Kirby-quotes"?)

Moi. Though I'm edging from "aspiring" to "published." I wish it didn't require so much marketing of my own. I haven't been able to sit and write in forever with the new issue getting released next week.

I would hazard to say this includes me as well.

I want to make comics and I've got a stack of rejection letters that proves that I've tried.

wow... there are a lot of people who want to make comics, huh?

Um... well people should probably know that I work on comics for magazines right now and I'm working on my portfolio for Joe Kubert's school of cartooning.

I definitely want to make comics. I'm going to college for it, if that's any indication.

Nothing published yet, but I have several submission packets that still need a little tweaking before they're sent out. I have sent one of my better proposals off to Antarctic Press, DC Vertigo, and Avatar (I know, I know, but why not shoot for the stars on the off-chance that they like it?).

    It would appear I am

a): In for a lot of competition

    b): In very good company.

I write a lot of things, some of which are comics scripts.

I only have one actually being produced, a story about a Sioux girl called FoxDaughter. (her name is tokala, that's just the title of the comic).

I'd post some art, but my artist wants privacy until we have the first part to publish.

Oh, Hell yes I want to make comics. The collaborative process is more fun than a bucket of wet weasels when compared to writing just straight prose. I've sold some stories to smaller publishers and currently have an on-going gig with Legendary Press. I've got a number of my own projects cooking at my house.

I do! I've been working on a zine with shitty little comics for about a year now. My cats are the stars of the show.

    I do.

I have written one full script that was not drawn; a film script that could very easily be adapted to comics; plotted out a four issue horror series; and I'm constantly writing snippets and plot ideas for exploration later.

Oh, and I have a published artist interested in one of my story ideas. I know these things fall through all the time, but my hopes are "fair to middling".

Yep I do comics as a ... "Hobby" and I've got a few stuff to show. Obviously my best is still ahead or rather in my mind.
    Here some links :

    - "Nature morte" : a collection of mostly silent short stories with skulls and chickens as a recurring elements. For the moment, this is my longest work.
    - "Popcorn" : a short story but it is really amateur ...
    - "Chiottes publiques " (for "Public toilets") : This one was almost published in an underground comics ... but they went .. bankrupt just before (so it is not my fault). Oh, attention Sir, this one could be considered as containing "Mature elements".

But I am slowly coming back to comics and my blog effort is more and more comics oriented.

Oh sorry, I forgot to mention that everything I do is in french ...

And if you'd like to see more :

I have ideas that consume me for weeks on end, then just disappear from brain entirely, only to return with more force than before. I really wish to write, but honestly have no clue where to begin.

I do! I've written some comic strips that were pretty successful in the area they were in and was a contributor to Fat Chunk vol. 1. other than that, I'm trying to get an animated series off the ground and am working somewhat as a copy writer.

I will make comics one day, oh yes.

You know, it's funny, because I'm really trying to break into the prose world right now. It seems to me that as a writer, it's kind of impossible to break into comics now without doing work-for-hire. (And even then it's not so easy.) And I have no interest in work-for-hire and other people's properties. The only other avenue is self-publishing, which would probably involve paying an artist to work for me unless I could get him or her to go even on the costs and profits, all of which is absurd. In prose at least it's assumed you will own what you write and assuming you get a publisher -- which is not easy, but certainly possible -- you're not going to have to foot the cost yourself. Which seems a heck of a lot more reasonable to me.

Not that I don't love books. I love prose books and comics.

Also, I'm doing this downloadable comics site.

I draw, write, and all the rest and I've got upwards of 4 comics projects coalescing, one of which involving other WCers. Also, I make journal comix on index cards to keep me sane and drawing and in touch with remote friends.

Yep, currently writing a couple short short scripts for practice and looking for an artist to illustrate them before moving onto something single-issue sized.

Sadly, most of my time is spent doing voiceover work. Which turned out to not be the dreamjob I thought it would be.

I not only want to, but do.

I think I'm getting quite decent at it, too.

    *raises hand*
One of the things I'd love to do but never seem to have things fall in line to accomplish.
I write short fiction and RPG bits and I've tried my hand at a script.
However, it just seems the things I try to express would be better seen than read.
