I managed about an hour's worth of nap, and was going to apologize if my Friday morning thread-starter sounded a little fried. But y'know, it been a nightmarishly busy week for a lot of people, so I can't really complain too much. Nothing a couple of Red Bull can't fix. I hope. How's everyone else holding together this morning?
Okay, let's face it, Warren's just tapped, isn't he?
Speaking of recognising him in the street, I was sure I saw him in a pub in Cork a few months ago. Either that or it was some other elderly curmudgeon with a laptop strapped to his head...
Friday is no work day, and I fucking love it!
I still really hope these interludes are included in the print editions. Nice way to show the workings of the ongoing series to all those naysaying trade waiters...
I enjoy the interludes as much as the story...haven't encountered Warren on the streets as yet, despite England's relative small size. Dunno if I'd recognise you Mister E..some people photograph different.
Dumb questions: Is FreakAngels Vol 1 going to be available on Amazon? It's not listed yet, which is strange when amazon often lists books that are just rumoured to be twinkles in author's eyes years in advance. Will Warren be doing any promotional work in the UK to support the release of FreakAngels Vol 1? Why is it every time I switch on Family Guy it's an episode I've already seen?
This morning/afternoon I am barely holding it together at all. Despite it being a 4 day week because of the bank holiday on Monday I am shattered. Last night was ante-natal class. Since I come over all dizzy at just the mention of the word placenta, I expect I'm going to need reviving at some point of the birthing experience. To make things worse, I just got an email from my boss that indicates he thought I had the day off work today, so I'm not even supposed to be here today!
I actually can't stand most weekly webcomics. Three updates a week is normally the minimum I can take. But Freakangels is different - most of the weekly comics I've tried to read have done ONE PAGE per week, which is godawful. Freakangels does six pages a week, which is actually more than weekdaily comics. And the "Yay, it's Freakangels day!" factor is nice :)
I'm not awake yet and nothing coming out the brain is making any sense. I can say bummer about the interlude this week, but reading it was very amusing.
sorry. had to get that out of my system. fridays i finish at 12.30 get home. switch on internet. prepare to listen to kermode's film reviews on fivelive and read freak angels. as you do.
Dresden Codak is supposed to be weekly, even though in practice it's more like... triannually.
Then there's Kukuburi which likewise isn't currently updating due to the creator's legal issues, Kissing Chaos which again is somewhat onhold due to impending twins, and The Abominable Charles Christopher which currently updates quite regularly.
Can I post more if I think of them, or will that start to get annoying? I have a feeling I've forgotten quite a few.
Thanks Gekko! I wasn't aware, I will work on that.
I'd also like to comment on the friendly tone of your post! I don't think I've ever been corrected on the 'Net without having my penis size, sexual preference, or mother commented on. What a friendly place!
I worked yesterday, which I usually don't do, and there's no cold cereal in the cupboard, and woke up to my sister puking her guts out. Which is to say, I am particularly out of it and getting going is going to be particularly challenging.
On the bright side, I'm going to the beach on Monday with a friend (I can't really afford it, but it's now or never, because planning things with her can be an impossibility).
i would also like to plead for the addition of the Interludes into the print versions. not that it matters, but as i will be getting the hardcover offering; please, please include them there. please.
Stopped working around 4 am. Glad to have time to reread from Hell, dive in Lazarev´s ´Karma Diagnostics´ and ´Satan Tango´ by some hungarian author who resembles Kafka, or so they say. My eyes bleed, heart stopped working three hours ago and my back feels like someone danced their own satan tango on them. High heeled.
Web comics... Transmisison X has several series running that each get updated regularly (mostly once a week) and it scheduled so there is something new there every day

As for the interlude... amusing, though I must say just reading about the things Warren wants to avoid conjures some images that amuse me more..... probably best I leave it at that. (I fear the arse eels)
Ahh, Freakangel Friday: one of my weekly milestones. Read it, go on lunch and come back knowing that I'm on the home straight and the weekend is just a few hours away.
And thank god for that, because it's been the longest 4-day week I think I've ever had. The law of averages states that I've got to get some actual sleep one of these nights...
