standardattrition.org is pretty fun. Jason Aaron and a handful of fellow Vertigo creators, talking about whatever the hell they feel like.
i have a small art forum on my website, which also serves as a news/soapbox/shit i feel like sharing outlet. I try to give regular critiques and i have a subforum devoted to sharing tips and techniques.
other than that, i occasionally check in at Penciljack.com, which is a good art forum for beginners, and Gutterzombie.com, which is Dave McCaig's art forum, mainly geared toward aspiring and professional comics colorists.

I was a longtime Citadel-based Telnet BBS user, back in the text-only days. I started off on ISCA BBS in about 1990, then onto various splinter boards as people migrated (Heinous, Eschwa). After that it was strictly LJ until Whitechapel, which I actually was turned on to because of the similarity to the flow of a Citadel board.
I also just purely hate both phpBB and the various *chan imageboard interfaces, so that pretty much limits you right there.
