    @LBA

    Not to rain on your parade with that, but there's more to the story...
    Just found out that the Tin Man suit was taken and modified into an “Iron Man” suit that won the costume contest at the NY Comic Con by my ex assistant. The suit was changed without my knowledge or permission and I’m royally angered by this action. It’s also sad to see that the only screen used version of the suit that exists, is now a cheapened knock off of a popular character. I don’t get people anymore and it makes me want even more to become more reclusive.

    I'm really enjoying the Professor Elemental/Mister B feud. This really raises the game though.

    Found this blog while searching for "Steampunk knit/crochet" on a whim; thought some of you crafty folk out there might enjoy it. Vintage/Steampunky needlecrafts & whatnot. There seem to be a lot of underthings in knit patterns, but there's also some crocheted lace cogs and such.

    I just posted some of our L_A_N magazine pictures from The Barbican's steampunk party Fashion Looks Back. It was a grand old time!

    London’s premiere steampunk club White Mischief presents an alternative view of the future as seen through the prism of the Victorian age. Bustles, top hats and clockwork innards jostle against sci-fi visions such as rayguns and steam cannons. Expect vintage music, steampunkthemed cabaret, and the chance to create your own DIY steampunk look.

    Post-Apocalyptic Steampunk?

    The great game series FallOut (a relaunch of Wasteland from the 80s, i'm compelled to point out) had some great Post-Apocalyptic steampunk designs at times. Josh Jay decided one helmet from FallOut 3 needed to be brought out into the physical world:

    (Click image to go to his friend's blog entry with more pics and info. If you have a facebook account, there seems to be links to photos showing the process of making the helmet. (I don't, so can't confirm that))

    Love your stepson's costume, Tom. Good to get 'em while they're young.

    Been meaning to post my Time Topper here for some time. Originally made for when I hosted The Philadelphia Sketch Club's 150th anniversary gala (as, naturally, a time traveler from 150 years ago), it has since become an indispensable part of my steampunk wardrobe:

    What Time Is It?

    There's a nice video of all sides of it here.

    Also, I feel I should point out that when you look up "steampunk" on wikipedia, you will, in fact, see my face, thanks to a lovely picture taken by Kyle Cassidy.

    I expect most people here are already familiar with the books but I thought this worth a mention because it's a nice piece of web design - Cherie Priest's Clockwork Century site
